I know bigger is supposed to be better, but I often miss the ICC. Many natural rivalries and we had good wrestling, gymnastics and swimming teams. And then Title 9 and the desire to move on to greener pastures started the journey to whee we are today. I know Indiana State of today is far from the ISU of the 1960's. I personally like The Valley; but sometimes we OFC members start to reminiscence. I'm sorry for taking this thread so far from where it should be. We will now return to our regular programing.

May be helpful for taking a look at potential members for expansion.

Jason, thanks for data mining all of that, you, 4Q, and Bankshot should go into business together...doing this kind of retrieval of information work. You guys and others on here rock!

Now, regardless of who has Boy's Tiddly Winks Teams, and who has or doesn't have a Men or Women's Bowling Teams, IMO, there is ONLY ONE CANDIDATE school to join the MVC and that is VALPARAISO. PERIOD.

I've been trying to watch as much NCAA basketball tournament game as possible....but it seems that the only thing that I really get focused on is the ONE MILLION advertisements broadcast Coast-To-Coast with VALPO, Bryce Drew and company doing those AXE commercials.

ISU, Doug Elgin and the rest of the MVC schools are dumber than a Box-of-Rox, if the MVC doesn't bring in a Marketing phenomenon and BRAND NAME like VALPO into the MVC.

That is possibly one of the best things I have seen here in some time. Sorry I didn't think of it.

Got my vote...I don't know how many times I've seen that "Astronaut" commercial (Is there actually an astronaut?). Seriously though, I like the Valpo geography (Chicago/N/ IN market), international recruiting ties (much like Evansville), long HISTORY/tradition (yes, going way-y-y back to the 60's ICC & Gene Bartow dayz), and the fact that ISU has hordes of alumni living in the Valpo "neighborhood," which is gonna be a "rediscover your root$" wakeup call benefitting the Scamores.

Ya, we've always had a tough time winning in that 5k gym of theirs, but the rest of the MVC won't fare any better! Many of us wish that ISU still played in the "Arena" to have the same home court impact, something that HC doesn't have unless 7k+ fans are present.

I would take Valpo, don't really wanna play in that Cracker Jack box of a gym, but I would not hate that addition. Last night after the game I went to dinner with some of the athletic department and was told the new leading candidate is from Chicago. No name just that they are from Chicago.

Has to be Loyola.

All they have in Chicago is Northwestern, DePaul, Loyola, UIC and Chicago State.

I sure in the h3ll don't want anything to do with those idiots in chicago......1 step further down than gloominton.

I wish they would all fall in the lake

Most of us aren't pleased with Elgin's declaration that he wants a school WITH football but unless they play D1-non scholarship and I am not aware it, Loyola does not have football. This whole thing is going to end up a cluster fuck. No one is excited about anybody. My little bird say Belmont and ORU and I know they aren't rocking my boat. I don't think they have football either. It blows my mind that Elgin made the stupid football comment and all we are hearing about are schools without it.

Just keep in mind one thing everybody,.......

Back when Tulsa left they were the strongest program in the league, and everyone said the sky was falling and how bad it would hurt the league, much the same way people are talking now with Creighton leaving. Not only did the conference not fall apart, it got stronger. No matter who is added, the conference will be fine.

Bluethunder, I imagine you are right but they say they're ready to move on and I am not feeling it from the league office. Let's find us something outside the box, as they say. Belmont makes a little sense to me. That would be somewhat "doable."
