leitnaker. hes a starter and barely gets more than 10 minutes a game and sometimes less. we need him to play like his size and not get pushed around.
Printy. Consistency is key. He's a great shooter, but if he can develop a dribble drive, he's every bit as dangerous as Lathan.
I don't look at it as being one player. It's teamwork and attitude from each and every one of the remaining players (let's call them the Great 8; they'll have to play pretty great to avoid the Thursday night game).
1. Great team basketball - making that extra pass, taking the gut wrentching charge, setting great picks, boxing out, talking on d, team above me mentality. We don't have to be the most talented, just the best TEAM.
2. Someone needs to be hot at all times. Doesn't have to be one person - Carl started blazing at WSU and then JP got hot, we've got to have someone really stepping up at all times.
3. Carl Richard has to go to the next level. Anyone else noticed the NBA moves Carl's been doing a lot more of lately? The baskets aren't always coming with the moves - yet - but he's starting to show what he's really got. Now is the time for Carl to take that leap forward to the next level.
4. The bigs have got to play well. All three, all game long. None of these five minute stretches of looking lost. Go watch a film of Brad Miley for a lesson in going 100 miles an hour, while playing within yourself.
5. Rashad has to run the point cleanly. Don't need to be flashy, just efficient.
Oops, I guess I went past one thing. Oh well, takes more than one thing to win a ballgame anyway!
I appreciate Richard's periodic ability to knock down 3 pter, but I think his "biscuits & gravy" are within 12', where he can use his quickness & one-handed NBA-like moves. He's finally developing the ability to go to the FT line, which is rarely an option outside.
We need a consistent INSIDE threat, and although Richard's only 6'5", he's more than capable of holding his own against 6'7" opponets.
