Very nice.

Right now, on paper, we're favored in the next two games. If we hold court, we'll enter the Illinois State game at 7-2. Obviously winning all 4 remaining games would get us into the playoffs, but I think if we can stay high in the GPI we could possibly sneak in at 7-4 and would have an excellent shot at 8-3, especially if all of the other MVFC teams keep winning as well.

NDSU is sitting at 5-1. They have games left against SD, SIU, MSU, SDSU and ILSU.
SDSU is sitting at 5-1. They have games left against UNI, YSU, SIU, NDSU and SD.
ILSU is sitting at 6-1. They have games left against MSU, UNI, us and NDSU.
YSU is sitting at 4-2. They have games left against SIU, SDSU, SD, WIU and Us.

Lastly, since we beat SIU, they've looked like a different team. They've knocked off Illinois State and Northern Iowa in back-to-back weeks. They control their destiny and could find themselves in the GPI rankings since they have games remaining against YSU, NDSU, SDSU and WIU. If they win out, they're at 8-3.

The Valley is an absolute slobberknocker this year. By the end of the year, there could be 6 teams ranked in the Top 25 depending on how the wins happen. I don't think it is out of the question that the MVFC gets 5 teams into the playoffs this year.

If we do get 4-5 those teams need to perform, NDSU has held up its end and UNI and wiu have not the past 2 years, we are 6-1 with a NC in 2 years, sure would help if we can get Valley teams to not choke

Here's looking at you in and SDSU!

Meant UNI in the last line

just out of curiosity. do teams/conferences receive money for number of teams in playoffs and number of games played in the playoffs like the ncaa tournament for basketball? in other words does the conference get more money if there are more teams in the playoffs or does it matter?

I would doubt it, but that is a good question.

I think we can only get in with 8 wins because Quincy doesn't count. I don't think there is much money involved for teams in the playoffs--I don't know that, but I remember teams had to bid (and pay the NCAA) to host the playoff games. This doesn't suggest much in the way of payouts to the conferences or teams involved. The current TSN bracket projection only has NDSU, YSU, and IL St. in. UNI is out, so the other possibles are us, SIU, and SDSU--the last several weeks will be very interesting!

UNI and ISU can throw 1 win each out the window for scheduling a DII, that's something I hope the teams in the league stop

Well, I know we stop next year. If not, we're pretty much automatically out of the playoffs unless we knock off an FBS team. We open with Indiana again and then head to Purdue the very next weekend.

I say 1. Win out. 2. Sdsu looses 2 games. 3a. Get sized for rings. 3b. Make a playoff run with a couple home games.

We need some help from the bison and maybe Youngstown or even maybe UNI this week

Didn't they expand the playoff field? Does that still mean it's a mandatory seven FCS wins? If so, we can only afford one more loss in the remaining four.

I don't think they did. That will majorly suck if we end up finishing with 7 wins and miss out, especially after a solid season. I hate harping on it, but fans need to get out to the games so Indiana State can buy a FCS home game and not have to pay a Quincy to come in.

I wonder if we'll ever be able to get a home and home series with the likes of App State, or Montana, or Eastern Washington? Of course, with the meat grinder that is the MVFC, we probably don't need to worry about playing the likes of those teams until the playoffs...

We have Montana st and Montana in 2014 and 2015 I think in Fargo

And for the playoff, the field goes to 24 next year, went to 20 in 2010

Well, scheduling 2 FBS schools is going to be murder. I'd take a lower level FCS school and get a home and home... it would be better than Quincy at this point.

It's very simple, restore the series with Eastern Illinois that never should have ended in the first place. Assuming it's not too late to get that game back. It's a home and away every year against a competitive team. We don't need to be playing a perrenial top 10 team. In a normal year, play an FBS, play a Pioneer team like Drake and play EIU.

Indiana State will never do that. It is entirely too logical.
