Where's Yogi, where's Troy, where's Van Fleet, where's Baker..............all good college players but not good enough for the league. They all got lots of hype but look at all the "no names" that actually got drafted............duh.

Ron Bakers signed a 1 year deal with the Knicks, partially guaranteed which is typically unheard of for undrafted players as most 2nd round picks come in on non guaranteed deals.

I'll tell you what, that draft last night was funny. A lot of GMs got themselves fired last night.

Did ANY MVC players get drafted?

wonder what partially guaranteed means? like if your car breaks we might fix it?

Means he will get paid either way, whether he makes the team or not. Because he is given a guarantee and thus counts against the team's salary cap, it also means they usually will keep him over a non-guaranteed player since they can fully terminate those salaries.

I remember reading an article outlining this a couple years ago. When I get home, I'll try to search for it.

For comparison sake, you have to be a first rounder to get any type of guaranteed contract. 2nd rounders are not even guaranteed a dollar, but they also aren't tied to any type of draft slot amount. So, the Knicks essentially like Baker to the equivalence of a late first-round pick. He'll almost definitely make the roster.

Knicks have one of the worst rosters in the league and had no draft picks. Yeah, good chance he'll make the roster and sit on the bench.

They also just made a 3 for 2 deal with the Bulls as well so in addition to losing free agents, they shed two PGs in that deal as well.
