Holy Smokes! It'll even have indoor golf!

“The size of the facility will allow us to hit full wedge shots up to 100 yards and to hit all clubs up to the driver into the netted wall. The length of the facility is enough that our players can see what the ball is doing and have confidence in knowing where the shots will end up. In conjunction with our new short game facility, we are able to fully prepare our players for competition even in the heart of winter.” - Matt Johnson, head women's golf coach

Change your name to Rip Van Winkle

Still waiting on the unequivocal commitment to football from our fearless leaders. I just want to hear Curtis or Campbell publicly say "As long as I am [President/BOT Prez] there will be ISU Football." With what Loyola did in men's hoops out of the MVC and a newly renovated HC, a winless or one-win football team and it's 4.5 Million Dollars will start to develop a target on it's back. And I'm not talking about a fantasy target made up by some on this board or by Mike King or Gregg Doyle, but a real one by people who matter.

Mallory needs to start winning....now.

Rumors are this will be done and ready by 2020, be a huge addition and the final piece of the puzzle for all sport along with our new Basketball and Track Facilities

Im pretty pumped about this project

And to think there are people against adding NDSU and SDSU to the MVC for all sports. Both schools are the #1 schools in their states and they have the money to compete. Anyone that thinks either can't compete in basketball is clueless.

Yes we should add two more teams to the conference that would outspend us 4-1. That should help us win some championships.

^ If that's the attitude then maybe we should just join the Ohio Valley Conference, as I've suggested in the past. But then again it doesn't seem like a very popular suggestion either.

We should WANT quality programs in our conference. With Wichita we got, automatically, 2 games with a Top 25 power built in every year...and the game a few years ago when they were Top 5 was the most electric HC atmosphere I’ve ever been a part of except when Menser hit The Shot (I was a Toddler during the Bird years). With the MVFC we get to take on the best in FCS, and in the MVC many of the best mid-majors in men’s hoops. Again, any program striving for excellence should want that, not shy away from it.

We’ve shown over the last 10 years we can be competitive in the money sports and most of the Olympic sports. We need a facilities upgrade, some fundraising, and some leadership. The potential is clearly there....

There is a difference between quality, and "out of your league". A Chevy Impala is a quality car, a Bugatti is out of my league.

Right now, we are the Chevy, and a school/program like NDSU is a Bugatti. We aren't even in the same zip code when it comes to resources, access to funds, fan support, etc. Then you add in the cost of traveling to those schools multiple times a year in all sports and there is one more thing we can't afford to do.

As much as I hate to admit that Svoboda is right about our financial situation , and until we get a solid, detailed fundraising program that is proven to be effective and we raise some serious cash, adding teams like the Dakota schools is a non-starter to me. I see no benefit to it and plenty of negatives for us.

Ship appears to be sailing on this anyways, with the Summit getting a good core of State schools and shedding the east schools its looking more and more like a Summit all sports conference would be more realistic.

Need to dump Ft Wayne, and head to New mexico and try steal NMSU, then hope they drop to FCS like Idaho

NDSU
SDSU
USD
UND
WIU

grab NMSU for a 6th FB school and maybe pull Northern CO out of the Big Sky to join NMSU and Denver Summit football and we are good, lots of moving parts but could happen.

NDSU
UND
SDSU
USD
WIU
OMAHA
DENVER
NEW MEXICO ST
NORTHERN COLORADO
ORAL ROBERTS

isnt a too shabby of an idea IMO

According to Guidestar, the following represents the IRS-990 reporting for the 2016 financials of the endowments of the ISU, NDSU & SDSU Foundations. Normally foundations "gift off" or provide 3-5% support from assets annually for scholarships, capital projects etc. Investment income above that provide for growth of the endowment. It's also a benefit to have an effective Development team.

ISU- $69,151,386
NDSU $267,672,690
SDSU- $176,121,095

Over the last 10 years is an interesting number. Over the last five we absolutely haven't. We can't "win" at anything right now outside of baseball. That's it!

Wrong. Even over the last 5 years we’ve shown an ability to be competitive in many sports and that the MVC and MVFC is the right fit. The only exception is last year in football where it was clear (and from a facilities standpoint still clear) we need to address some issues. That’s why Mallory needs to start winning now. Five years ago we were an FCS playoff team that could win games in the Playoffs. Five years ago we were post season NIT in both b-ball programs. Not world beaters but at least competitive.

The potential is there. We just need leadership, fundraising, and a new stadium.

The problem from the last decade or so in most sports hasn't been fielding a winner, it's been sustaining a winner. Each sport has had some solid teams over the past several years, but we can never seem to sustain the momentum and build on it, save for baseball and track/CC
