Old Spaghetti Factory is a middle of the road dining experience-corner of meridian and Georgia Street

If you want high end then there are a number of steak houses downtown St. Elmos, Morton's, Don Shula's

For a little of nouveaux, try THE TAVERN ON SOUTH. It is a half block from the stadium and I am hearing great things about it. It is new but off to a great start.

Your fiancee is dragging you to a football game?

My boss is, I am still recovering from a bout with my old sickness so in all honesty, (I literally can't believe I am saying this) I think I would rather lay at home in my pjs and watch the redzone channel

37 years living in Indy and St. Elmo's is STILL my favorite. With Mortons, Shula's, an excellent Ruth's Chris and St E's, Indy has no lack of spots for the meat-lover. One super place that I don't think anyone else has mentioned is Fogo de Chao at E. Washington at South Pennsylvania. Far enough from the LUC that it might be easier to get a table but dead-on for atmosphere and quality (it's a Brazilian steakhouse). Check it out on the net. Great concept.

Is Harry and Izzy's still open? I really like it the two times I ate there...literally next door to St. Elmo's, a little cheaper and less formal.

It may be difficult to get into St. Elmo's before the game as it is always...way, way busy. But if you are going top dollar on this one...St. Elmo's is the place, no question. Harry and Izzy's is the same owners as St. Elmo's so it is very similar just less formal and different food options. if it is still open (I haven't even looked when driving past recently) it may be a good option.

Good point.

The meals are served by "Gauchos" that bring skewers of unending types of meat. Bring your appetite, that's for sure. Our Brazilian Indy Car drivers think it is the greatest place that has ever come to town.

My guess is that St. Elmo's would be an impossible "get" on a game day. Harry and Izzy's is still open and very good too. The fact that I am in the limo business makes it easy to say yeah or nay on restaurants because our customers let us know what they like. I have never been to Fogo but I know how well our customers like it.

FOGO is AWESOME! But you will probably eat so much that you will want to throw up shortly after you leave...I know I did. It is just down right great though

Was going to suggest Fogo's... but thought it might be too much food before a game... and USUALLY the dress code is more than FB jersey's ;-)
