This site is at the very beginning stages so there's nothing posted so far...this is just an attempt by a Bluejay fan to give another option aside from Valleytalk. One that has moderators that are actually around to control the boards in a decent manner. I have offered to be one of the moderators...give it a try if you like

PS: The person who contacted me about this said he's going to hold off on letting Bluejay fans know about it so as to try and keep it from being a Bluejay fan dominated board.

Is valleytalk even around anymore? I've been trying to go on it the past few days and It shows up with nothing.
 
I've been unable to get it at work...didn't know if it was my IT security system disallowing it or if it was simply down. You may be right though kosor77.
 
I'm working w/ the guy some...he is working out some kinks...posts need approval from the moderator so he's trying to make it so that is not required. He runs another board so I'm sure he'll get it figured out. In the meantime, I see that a couple of you have joined...it has potential, especially if it's moderated well.

Maybe I know know why I have avoided sites like Valley Talk in the past. If it wasn't for Little Eddie, someone I trust and respect, I wouldn't have even taken a look here. Stating what SHOULD be obvious, everyone HOMERS their home team, states the facts as THEY see it, not the real facts, and the favorites pretty much reflect what has gone on over the years in the Valley.

I will always put Creighton near the top because they have proven to me year after year, that they deserve to be there (and Eddie likes them too). Beyond them, this league is pretty much a crap shoot. To put our Trees near last, shows your bias outweighs your intelligence. We will be better, new coach or not, and I won't go much further than that. I am NOT a homer. Just knowledgeable enough to know that. This league will be tough and road wins be hard to get no matter where you play.

I'll check in from time to time and support our fans and my alma mater from this Valley bias but for now, conference blog sites are generally a waste of time. If you really want to be a homer, go ahead and be one. We have enough fires to put out on our own site. If someone makes an HONEST, unbiased opinion, please alert me. I don't know that much about basketball, really I don't, but I do know a ridiculous opinion when I read one and there are already a bunch of them on here and I only arrived here 30 minutes ago.

OK. It just pissed me off. They are bunch of frickin idiots. Ignorance on my part because I never have read them. I will shut up. Thanks for the hint. (Dumb or not, it made me feel better). :-)

DG3, ultimately, I think I recovered. I did learn a lot though. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer, these MoVal bloggers.
 
Surprising amount of activity for a first day on the new site...maybe the timing was right for a new Valley site? Others have tried before to no avail...I see a few VT guys on there that are good guys for the most part.

You'll always have homers on these types of boards...it is nice to see that fans will notice other teams have talent too...like the one thread about what player you'd start w/ if you were putting a team together. Lots of fans picked players from other teams...
 
This is a really solid site....I went on there and purposely posted something out of line....it was deleted and I received an almost immediate warning!

I certainly got my education on those MVC forums quickly. There were some ridiculous opinions for sure but DG3 set me straight. I trust he'll keep them in line and frankly, the ones on MVCfan that I interacted with, weren't all that bad. Not my dream to monitor a site like that all day but I might drop in from time to time. Of course, that is EXACTLY what I said about this site as well and I pay much more attention to SP than I thought I ever would.

While I don't think you were out of line I do tend to agree that there's very little proof that Kelly or Lathan are NBA caliber just yet. Yes, Kelly had a great soph season at Iowa...player of the week 3 out of 4 weeks and so on. However, the tribe guy was right...Jake had some somewhat pedestrian stats going into the SIU game last year. What tribe guy doesn't realize is that Jake was on the verge of "getting it" just before he went down...I remember calling Kev after it happened and telling him that Kelly was really starting to look better and he agreed...less turnovers...more assistants and scoring. If only ISU would have had less injuries...would have been fun to witness.

Lathan just doesn't have the height...if he was 3 or 4 inches taller I'd say he had a chance but I see pros overseas for Dwayne.
