but you will still have ISU football because there is no NIL there to worry about.

Sorry i just had too. :)

But we do have several football players getting NIL funds. If you see someone post something from Crossroad of Champions, they got money.

That said, lack of funding there means we will sink further down in the MVFC. If folks though getting funding for 15 players was bad, wait until they see the price tag for 63+ football players.

Nothing to apologize about. Besides maybe some star offensive players, I don't think NIL is / will be too out of control at the FCS level. None of the schools at the FCS level have enough money to pay 63 players or even just the 30 or so players that actually contribute.

I also think baseball is still relatively pure (for now) too.

Baseball players are getting NIL money and they need it like basketball to stay competitive. You think those players just stayed after what they did on the national stage last year? It’s pretty remarkable none of the key pieces hit the portal after their run last year.

I'm sure they're getting NIL money, but I doubt any of them got $50K to stick around. Any ideas on what they actually receive?

Interesting article that the Bradley Home of the Brave collective had retweeted from last week.

Of note in the article where they were interviewed....

"In the Missouri Valley Conference, NIL money for a player who is a starter is believed to average about $10,000-$12,000. An elite returning all-conference player could reach $50,000 or more. Rotation players could draw $7,000-$10,000. Everyone on the team has value, so every player will get something."

And....

"Home of the Brave raised $150,000 for its NIL collective in its inaugural year and doubled the spending in its second year, said Messmore. They are trying to build on that in their third year of operation. For the first time, the Collective is open for membership to the public. And customized corporate sponsorship opportunities are welcomed, too."

So Bradley is pretty comfortably in the $300k+ range.

I've posted on that one before, but that one is player-based. IIRC, there was a signup link at the bottom for athletes to get their own store created.
Ah sorry for the repost then.

And yeah they are all player focused, but it seems like the players that are using that site are doing it within the framework of the entire university having a storefront/portal. I know Purdue uses the same one. The Duquesne NIL Store (that Tre's page is on) has lots of just general Duquesne gear that isn't tied to any one individual player and seems to be for the collective as a whole, or at least a specific team as a whole. If you check out the page, they have a ton of different items that aren't tired to any one player https://nil.store/pages/duquesne

Kids and folks lying about what they're getting/paying? Nooooooooo.

“It’s hard to matchup what the players say they got and what the schools say they got,” Wood said. “The answer is probably somewhere in between. If you ask our coaches, we’re probably light. If you ask me, I don’t think these kids get what they say they are getting offered. All of our offers are in writing and we have a contract. I walk them through the contract. I walk them through the tax implications and make sure they understand what they are signing and how to do their community service to get their stipend.”

Guess what, Uncle Sam will have no problem auditing you if there is public record of you saying you got X but are reporting Y.
