Huge game for the Sycamores!

Gonna need a great crowd and big Forest presence to provide a menacing atmosphere.

Lansing better take the scout on this one, himself.

I will NEVER understand why you play a school (even for exhibition) that not one person in all of Terre Haute or ISU has ever heard of ----- if we really must play a lower level school to fill out the schedule then do it with a small college Indiana school. Give a local school at chance to play a Div I school (us) with at least a little name recognition ….hell, they might bring 50 -- 60 fans.
Ask 5000 people where is McKendree located ……..no one will know
Play UIndy or USI

(NOTE: --- same concept applies to football ---- why do we keep playing Quincy ? ? ?

Maybe ....?

Maybe we can catch the McKendree Bearcats looking ahead to Union University -- their next opponent -- a game they've had circled on the schedule for some time I'm sure.
:annoyed:

Haha Union university is a Dll in Jackson, TN. This will be a good tune up game for our next game which may be our toughest of the year outside of TCU.

I don't think we have 5,000 people that visit this forum but I for one can tell you that I've been past McKendree multiple times in my life and I've drank beer in a hole in the wall bar in the downtown area called Brewers on a couple different occasions. I celebrated in that bar twice in 2011 (March 4 and March 5) after the Sycamores beat Evansville in STL and then after we beat Wichita State...

So maybe minus your number by 4,985 or so. Close though.

I used to live in Lebanon Illinois in the 1980's where McKendree is located. Lebanon is a pretty neat little town - cobblestone streets and the whole bit. The college is affiliated with the Methodist Church and is a pretty good liberal arts college. Lebanon was one of the major stops on the underground railroad and many of the older home still have the hidden rooms where runaway slaves stayed.
McKendree has a pretty good basketball history - their ex-coach Harry Statham, who retired in 2010, is a member of the NAIA Basketball Hall of Fame. His 1,122 wins during his 52 seasons are the most by any men's or women's basketball head coach at a four-year college or university in the United States. Don't really know any recent basketball news about McKendree but do know they have a few athletes from nerby small towns that were pretty good.
Probably more info than anyone wanted...
