I'll be there, helps to be on vacation though! LOL
Lucky ass. I requested it off at work and got denied. Was hoping to make this game since I know we'll be dead at work all day. Really hope we come out with a sense of purpose in this one like we did with SLU but maintain it.

I hope we can maintain it as well, Don't know if AP will be better than Brown, but do know we'll need to get better as the season goes along. The MVC is REALLY bad this year outside of WSU and UNI.

They appear to be marginally better offensively and marginally worse defensively. Here are the offensive/defensive stats for Brown, Austin Peay and us. In looking through their box scores, it appears they are a post oriented team and their 6'8" center Chris Horton and 6'6" forward Chris Freeman are their two best players. They don't look to be very thick though so they must be quick and athletic. Only two guys over 200 lbs on their roster and the heaviest is the Freeman kid at 205 pounds. If that Horton kid is aggressive, which appears to be the case averaging nearly 5 blocks a game, I hope we can get some home town calls and get him into foul trouble early... probably would end the game before it starts.

Brown

From the Austin Peay gameday release:

"This is Dave Loos’ 25th season as Austin Peay head coach and he is 384-353 at APSU–the winningest basketball coach in Ohio Valley Conference history and 466-406 all-time in his 29th season as a college head coach."

"The Govs are incorporating six newcomers into the 2014-15 roster, and many are expected to be key contributors. Junior Khalil Davis has started all three
games–he had 9 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals at Samford. Sophomore Assane Diop is the top frontcourt reserve, while Tre’ Ivory, Josh Robinson, Domas Budrys and Chris Porter-Bunton - all true freshmen - will be in the mix in the backcourt."

As for the 13pt favorite...

First of all, if I was in Vegas right now (will be there Thurs!), I would not take State in a bet to cover the spread.

With that said, we should absolutely win this game by 13+. They're on the road, it is HARD to win games on the road, especially when you've got 6 newcomers like they do. YES, we have seven newcomers, but we're at home, and some of those newcomers have shown some serious skills. The only game AP has won this year was against a DII (or DIII) team I've never heard of before. The Illini destroyed them. If we want to show that we have any chance at all vs Ravonte Rice and Co, then we need to beat this team handidly.....I'm not saying by 30+ points like the Illini did, but a hearty 15+ yes.

AP is gonna struggle during this game.....just like we prob will too at times, but if our guards can slash to the rim like they've been showing their knack for, and if Khristian can continue being Khristian, and if Gant can finally show up, then we should be cover the 13 point spread and have some confidence going out West.

I see us by 7 points, and that's with no crowd support. But this scary, was just thinking ahead, when we go out to Vegas and play on national TV, Thanksgiving day on Fox Sports 1, and play Illinois, just hope we don't get blown out by 30 points.
