High Point is actually 2-1 but I went ahead and gave them a victory in their next game. They play St. Andrews later tonight and if that name sounds familiar, that is because St. Andrews also played Winthrop and lost 80-48. Will be interesting to see the margin for High Point. St. Andrews is 0-4 on the season.

High Points 2 other wins have come against a 1-3 UNC Greensboro (81-73) and 1-3 Appalachian State (86-64).

Did some stat scouting...

In 2009-2010 they were 15-15....since then, they've won 12 and 13 games the past two seasons.

They're tallest player is 6'9"

Five seniors on the team.

They've never played in the NCAA tourney.

Their two leading scorers are averaging 19 and 18 points a game.

Athlon Magazine had them as #1 in the North Division of Big South--don't think if means anything based on their current won/loss record.

I will be at the game Sunday, due to being in town for the holiday. My girlfriend is High Point alum, so we have some major wagering going on (fyi, she chouldn't care less about sports). It is pretty cool that our alma mater's are playing one another and during a time we are able to attend.

Huge win at BSU. Also, High Point nearly beat Purdue at Mackey last season. If you get a chance to look at their school website, it is ridiculous what their new president is doing. They are in the middle of a $2B plus upgrade to campus. They've more than doubled since 2005 and he hopes to start football and become D1 in the future. That campus is beautiful and they have refridgeration stands with bottled water; "free" for students. Also, have "free" steak dinners every Thursday night. I emphasize "free" since tuition has tripled recently.

Chaney could be a tough cookie for us INSIDE @ 6'9"...he's obviously talented if Donovan @ FL had him before he went to VA Tech.

I just hope we show up and play hard. If we do, a win should be no problem. Hopefully we learned something from the Truman State game.

high point is averaging 80.3 points per game over there first 4 games. Sycamores are going to need to slow the game way down which is probably their game plan anyways. If not, i feel like it'll be just like the home game against evansville last year...lots of scoring.

High Point might be an unknown, but those boyz are situated in an area of America that rivals the IN/KY "cradle of hoop civilization"...their mentality toward hoop & life in general is very "Hoosieristic" (although flavored a tad bit w/ Hillbilly spice) - should be a good game from a basketball academic perspective ...no 59 TOer!

***Note: I like NC people...their approach to ecology/outdoor recreation reminds me a lot of Oregon!

Unless she is very good at paying of her bets, I advise you to dump her. Sunday night if she refuses to pay or offers to pay you later will set in motion the way things will be the rest of your life with her.

I think ISU wins by more than ten points. Not much more than a gut feeling, but keep in mind this team has won 12 and 13 games the past two seasons.

Head Coach Scott Cherry played at UNC in the early nineties and played on the '93 championship team. Played one season as a pro in Cyprus. Since taking over three years ago, HP teams are 9-40 on the road.

"Featuring a style similar to his playing days at UNC, Cherry’s players push the ball up the floor, move the ball quickly and play pressure defense. The results were obvious in HPU’s first season under Cherry, as the team’s scoring offense improved from 64.4 to 72.3 points per game..."

The Big South is probably a conference considered a low major as a opposed to a mid major....agree/disagree?
Schools include: Radford, Liberty, Winthrop, Campbell, Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb, Longwood, VMI, Charleston Southern, Presbyterian

Trivia..............not a cheap school to attend............

2011-2012 Costs:

Comprehensive Fee: $37,800 (includes tuition, fees, room & board for a standard double, parking, laundry, athletic events, airport shuttle service and more)

Deluxe and Private rooms are an additional: $2,200 - $4,200 per year*

*The additional $4,200 applies if housed as a single private room in a typical Deluxe room normally for two.

HAHAHAHA Sycamore Tuff... she pays up :-) They've got a couple scorers that we've got to contain. If this is accomplished, ISU should roll.

I just hope we're not looking past this game to the next BIG home game against New Mexico. Man, I hope we get a big crowd for that game! Any promotions going on for that one yet? I suspect just because Steve Alford is coaching UNM that that will bring some IU fans in to see him.

I am not sure but I don't think we ever beat Alford when he coached at SW MO St. even in our Hulman Center ? Time for that streak to end too !!

Spears is kid from Indy (formerly Park Tudor now back at hometown high school Martinsville). However, he has decommitted from New Mexico. Not really sure who is pursuing him at this point.
