I had found my excitement level far below where it usually is for basketball season, and I know why. The way everything was blown up at the conclusion of the greatest basketball season since 1979, left a sour taste in my mouth for the state of college basketball. Even though I knew what was likely to happen, it still hit hard when it actually did. However, I woke up this morning with that butterfly feeling in the stomach knowing we are now hours away from tipoff. I honestly was feeling down about not having that excitement.....but alas, the universe has found it equilibrium....and the passion has returned. LETS GO TREES!!!

First game of the Matt Graves era, first game with a lot of new faces.

I’m keeping my expectations in check and trying to look at the big picture.

Win or lose, I want to see a team that competes hard, doesn’t have too many bad turnovers, has some flashes of the same offense we have run the past few years (even if it looks a little raw), and we start to see lineups and positions stabilize a bit after this first week or two.

If we cover the spread I’ll be pretty happy. Interested to see what the hell we’re going to look like

Auburn pounded sand in their ass Saturday night. Our Sycamores need to stick a plug in it & keep that grit in there. Play some defense & run the court. GO SYCAMORES!

Question to help me analyze this game.... How did we do in our hidden scrimmages? Who did we play and what was the outcome?
They played Miami from Ohio on the 1st Saturday of October and they "lost" if you combine the two separate 20 minute games. It was by either 6 or 7 points. The third shorter game involved mostly backups. I wrote a few notes somewhere in the forum, not sure where. I'm sure the team has gelled more with another month of practice. I think they will exceed the 8th spot in the league and maybe could reach the 5th spot at the end of the season. Just a humble opinion from someone who watched the scrimmage. Today will illuminate some more. I would start Teel, Cook, Summers, Gray, and Harding, but there's a solid other four who could start (Doughty, Jaden, Derek, Camp).
