This will be the first time we play a team that I thought we needed to steal a win from that isnt coming off some sort of devastating loss. I feel like we could be that to them this week.

The best result for the next three games is to get people healthy and don't incur any more injuries. A win in any of the three would be an upset. Would also be a good time to expand depth at the QB position. Need an accurate passer to move program forward. Sorry, Adams is not that guy for the future.

See? It's not just me!!! Woohoo!!!

I thought earlier in the season that we would win one of these three "gauntlet games." This is the one I thought we'd have the best shot at. I hope it comes to pass, but I'm not optimistic. Crow is great, though, and I'd be happy to down a plate of it!!!

I watched Illinois State dismantle a very good WIU team on espn3 replay yesterday, if Illinois State does not score 50 points on us I will be very surprised. If you want to see how good they are just go back and watch the 4th quarter of their game vs. WIU.

The way the MVFC season has played out, I am not sure I would be shocked by the results of any games going forward. Everyone in the league is capable of beating (and getting beat) by anyone else depending on how they play.

I watched them try to lose vs EIU. If not for a missed chip shot in regulation and a bonehead fumble in OT they lose

very true, I saw that game too, but they've gotten much better since then. It's going to be very difficult for us to stop their run/pass onslaught and if we keep giving teams free first downs with personal fouls they may score 70

You're not supposed to notice that!!!

With Warum breaking out for them, going to be tough to stop. First need to get into Roberson's head and try to limit Coprich. We did this pretty well last season, but we all know how that game ended. Roberson kicked it into high gear after our game with them last year, hopefully we can get some consistent pressure and contain the edges. Will need to win the turnover battle and hope for some ball control on offense.

I will be happy if I just see a quick slant or two, anything with a 3 step drop. Our line hasn't shown the ability to hold blocks long enough for double moves and/or long passes to develop.

If we don't try to pound a round peg into a square hole all day on offense it will be an improvement.

i should have waited to fix this till Throwback Thursday.

Nope I actually meant "Here's to another week of hoping Zach Kline will play quarterback and maybe improve our passing game..." But you're right. But until someone other than Adam (who is not the qb of the future) plays, we will never replace him, will we? So me saying I hope Kline plays is me hoping they will replace Perish. Is that good enough for you?

My point is that we are hoping a double transfer qb who was a JuCo player last year can come in and be a great passer knowing that a major weakness is pass protection. I really have to believe that as much of a deal as the staff made when he transferred here, that the coaches would have had him as our starter from day 1 unless he and Adam have proven who should be the #1.

You have seen how questionable our play calls are on offense. That lies with the offensive coordinator. He hasn't proven much. It is quite possible the offensive coordinator could be trying to prove himself by "building" a qb even though there is a backup who is much better. Just my speculation, but it could be.

Isn't the backup QB always better? Particularly after losses? I've been watching, reading, and and hearing that in Chicago for the past 40 years with the Bears. And, if I'm honest, sometimes it's been true, although far more often not. I'm sure the coaches, who have seen the QB competition from Day 1 both in practices and scrimmages (and a little bit of game situations), know better than anybody here who gives them and the team the best chance to be successful.
