My prediction: 1st Team All-MVC at the end of the season.

Seems his knee injury that slowed him down the last few games of the season and in St. Louis has overshadowed what a beast his was all year and the growth he's shown over the last three years.

Trust me, this guy is going to be a force. I'm just shocked at the lack of mention he gets just about everywhere I look.

I felt it necessary to bring him into the discussion. :sycamores:

Yeah he's in for a monster year. If he can consistantly hit that jumper of his watch out. Carl Richard is the best player on this team. Odum makes it all go and it wouldn't go without him. But Carl can stairt rake!

Yeah, I tend to see Lathan constantly mentioned but not the Hot Carl. It's semi-idiotic to not mention (what I consider) the most complete player on our roster.

Richard is also more than likely going to eclipse 1,000 career points this season. Standing on 750 points.

It's no coincidence that State has improved every season he's been a Sycamore.

Carl is also in ~Top 30 in 3-ptrs (55), the #15 Rebounder (570), #23 in Career steals (66) and the #15 ShotBlocker (39)

So...does Carl play the 3 or the 4 to start the year? I'd like to see him start at the 3, and by doing so I think ISU becomes a seriously good rebounding team. Carl is already a superb rebounder, but our overall team rebounding could increase by starting a true #4 (not sure who that is at this time...Gant?) and sliding him to the 3 spot.

I will respect your prediction but who does he replace? Weems and Doug McDecommit will be heavy favorites and nothing against King Richard but those 2 players are a level above him.

Im not saying Richard is for sure on the level of Weems and Mcdermott but the thing is those two players have not have to play out of position their entire career. Carl seems to matchup very well with Weems when they go one on one and this year we'll see if Weems is really a caliber above Carl when the roles are reversed. ISU should have the better supporting cast and will be able to key on Weems a lot more than in years past. We also really dont know what level of player Carl is yet until we see him at the 3. I agree he is a step below those two if he has to play the 4 again but I really see him being a handful at the 3 if he has improved his ballhandling.

I do agree that Richard is a tough matchup and in my opinion has done very well on Weems defensively. The Valley is going to be loaded at the 3 this year as both Weems and Dougie are moving down to the 3 some this year Carl is a great player and I hope he had the season you are predicting, I do think putting him on the wing will elevate his play and stats. I have always thought "King Richard" was the most dangerous player in blue( or black, or white, you guys have color drama lol).

Carl is a tweener. He will be out of position wherever he plays. Carl has and is a great player for us but I worry about him at the 3. And I would also say that about MA and KD.

I don't know how some think Carl can move to the 3. Where is DL going to play? If DL makes better decisions and doesn't force things this year our best lineup just about has to include Odum, Lathan, Richard and Walker (with Steve or JP).
