Why do you turn good people who act like Indiana State fans for 8 months out of the year into fans of IU, ND, Butler and Purdue fans?! Why oh why??

If you are going to be a fan of a program why not just stick with one team?? Do you really feel the need to embrace multiple teams?

Oh March...

I'm guilty. I watched both IU and Purdue tonight and hoped they would win. I will watch Notre Dame and hope they will win, and I didn't even grow up or currently live in Indiana. I still have plenty of love left over for my Sycamores. I cheer for these other teams but I don't live and die with them or even know all of their players like I do with State.

Still refuse to cheer for Butler though. Just won't happen.
 
This. I root first for the MVC schools. I feel like the overall success of the MVC in the tournament only helps raise the tides in the conference. After that...I'm rooting for upsets by thr mid majors. After that, I just defer to my bracket.

I understand and share the sentiments of nwi stater and Broker. I really have on ill will to the players at eye-ewe and pea-ewe. My feelings stem from the arrogant, obnoxious and condescending fans of both programs. It's just that simple. They can't get beat too often or too bad.

Maybe its because many (most) of us are basketball fans -- we root and support ISU because we're alumni and we want it to do well. But reality is, come March Madness, ISU's team is sitting in their dorm rooms. So if you like college basketball you watch and being human you begin to take a side. Its often going to be a school near you or one like you. That's why IU or PU -- or a another midmajor school
Do you really think back in'79 there weren't millions of IU/Purdue fans on the edge of their chairs rooting for the Sycamores ? ? ?
What do you want us to do in March ...........switch the channel and watch "Gilligan Island" reruns ? ? ?
Sycamores get in The Dance -- I'm all in. But what four appearances in 40+ years --- that's 90% of the time we ain't dancing !

I have very few teams I really cheer for--I State (if in the field), other Valley schools. I also smile when I take the field vs a select few.

Good one.....there goes the Front Porch on lotsa of WV homes!

The upside is, the fires from burning couches previously tossed down the banks of the Potomac River, will burn out decades of trash.
