Just wondering if anyone knew of anyone who has some or all of the 1979 season on DVD or VHS? I have heard that some of the players have the entire season. Did the university supply them with the games, or an individual source? I would love to get some more of them. I have a few games from that season, but would love to get some other games as well. Anyone out there that can help?

The University was selling DVDs of the 1979 Title Game; I don't know of any others;
maybe the TV stations in The Haute have them on film...

I already have that one, and also the DePaul and Arkansas games as well. I'm really looking for some of the regular season games if at all possible. Thanks for the thought though.

Whoever has them, ISU or WTHI, is sitting on a gold mine if they could legally sell them. Why sell the title game? Worst game of year for ISU. ISU vs. Wichita was a GREAT game as were many others that year. I'd like to forget the title game.

I had tickets for that Shocker nationally-televised Sunday game. Damn snow storm in E-ville prohibited us from getting any farther than Ft. Branch, so we made an about face...returned home and watched Bird light it up!

I was at that game. Damn near a full house despite the terrible blizzard going on outside!!! I was a great game, and it might rank as the loudest I have ever heard Hulman Center - and that's saying something!!!

I have that game on video, but I can't find it!!! It's a fun one to watch, particularly since Bird started out really slow, and still set the scoring record. My favorite play was where Bird gets a rebound or a steal (I can't remember which), and fires a baseball pass to a streaking Steve Reed who has to gather in the ball and do a turn-around layup. The crowd went absolutely NUTS!!! One of my all-time favorite ISU basketball moments!

I made it from Bicknell to Terre Haute in my 65 Malibu. That game was proof that Bird could have scored 49ppg if he had shot more. It may not have been good for team chemistry and he knew that, which was proof that his best trait was not his passing or shooting ability but his team building skills. ISU is still paying the basketball gods its penance for having had one of the best players of all time.

There are so many games I would love to watch again. How about UE where ISU was down around 20 at the half and came back to win, etc. etc. etc.?
