He prepped under two (2) All-American's @ ISU, ED SLEZAK, a SPECIALIST - acclaimed by many as the BEST in the WORLD, and my Theta Chi roommate, KEVIN MURPHY (also a SPECIALIST). Murphy was Asst. Coach to Roger Counsil in '77 when ISU was Co-National Champions w/ Oklahoma, led by Bart Conner.

Retton's PR firm needs to get this shit RIGHT. They obviously don't know that they're treading on once-sacred NCAA Gymnastics territory in ISU!

I beg to differ oh worthy one. The article is CORRECT. Kurt Thomas won a GOLD medal in WORLD competition, not the Olympics. He was a member of the Olympic Team in 1980 that did NOT COMPETE because of the ill-advised Olympic boycott.

Thanks for the correction...time has a way of playing tricks on the ol' mind. Olga & Bart's future wife (Nadia) dominated the '76 landscape in Montreal. Damn that was l-o-n-g ago!
