If they wait too much longer, his value is going to be in the tank. The kid isn't a franchise guy and just takes so many piss poor shots. Combine that with the fact he is average (or worse) defensively, it's just a bad combo.

Plus, O'Brien has to go. His system just isn't a fit with the personnel and he keeps ramming round pegs into square holes.

I love Granger. I would rather get rid of O'Brien than Granger. Jim is not an NBA coach. Larry Bird can't make a deal to get the right players here. That whole franchise is a mess right now.

I watched the last few moments of the game last night with some family members. We all talked about how good the Pacers use to be until the debacle with the Pistons.

Trouble is I think Granger's stock has already fallen from where it was a year or two ago. That team needs to be built around the PG and C now. Move Granger and clear the way for George to show us what he can do.

As for the coach, I agree that his system is probably not the right fit, but he does what he does well. Making a coaching change isn't going to do much. Coaches don't have as big of an impact on performance in the NBA as they do in other sports.

hes avg. 23 points a game the last 3 years. miller only avg. 18 points a game for a career. i doubt any one wanted him traded.

1 game does not a season make. He (Granger) is going nowhere! O'Brien is certainly open for debate. The loss on Friday was tough to watch but after a few early setbacks, I am not ready to throw in the towel yet. That might change by the end of next week however! :-)

we HAVE to get rid of O'brien we have so many wings and an extremely weak SG and PF position...you know the positions where a majority of the leagues best players play....

I don't think Larry needs to move honestly, I think Hasnbrough will turn out to be a solid NBA player and George may have the most upside of any player taken in the draft outside of Wall..

he might become a solid player, but u dont waste a lottery pick on him when the team needed a pg. bird also traded harrington and jackson for murphy and dunleavy cause he wanted to change the image of the pacers. if he really meant that he would of never drafted lance and signed aj price.

and cause of that trade golden state went on a huge run made the playoffs and beat dallas 1st round.

At the time that looked like a pretty even trade, Murphy has averaged a double-double for the past couple seasons...don't be reverse racist and EGC, where are these point guards that they could have taken????????I would like to know their names and how their season is going...Timeout I thought you were talking about George not Hansborough

nah i like george. he will become good defensively with his reach.

jrue holliday, ty lawson, maynor were takin after hansborough i can remember. bird also traded bayless for rush the year b4.

i liked murphy, but the trade as a whole was one sided.

u can look up those players stats up if u like.

IMO, we need to get rid of Dunleavy and Foster also. Foster doesn't do anything for us but take up roster and cap space.

Was there anyone screaming for us to keep Stephen Jackson?????? I think not...Pacer "Fans" who now complain about us trading those players sure didnt mind calling them thugs so when Bird did trade them everyone is up in arms...sounds like the man was damned if he did and damned if he didnt...and Eric Maynoris one of the most overrated pgs in NBA draft history the guy has done nothing basically..Lawson is a legit talent I wish we would have gotten him...I think it turned out ok because I think Collison will be better than any of the players we could have drafted that year....and Jeryd bayless has barely played in the NBA so it's tough to say that was a mistake...

bayless hasnt got much p.t. due to the teams hes played on. hes played behind andre miller and steve blake, and now hes behind c.p.3. maynor also hasnt been able to play much cause of the teams hes on thunder and jazz who are pretty set at their pg. but the point was there was several options to take.

about the thug statement...u are correct, much of the fan base wanted these guys out, but its hard to get equal value for those guys in haste. but there was a smaller minority of the fans (myself included) didnt want these guys gone.

the only player i had problems on that team was jermaine. his effort was lacking and injuried alot, but i never did care what he and the others did off the court, their grown men not my place to throw stones at them.

point is when a team is under achieving, u have to start at the front office and coach for changes. pacers have had quite a few losing seasons in row, and u have to start all over. thats why i think bird along with obrien should be gone.

What do you expect to get for Granger? He is a good piece but not a franchise player. If the Pacers draft well or get lucky and win the lottery they could end up with a decent team. They need someone to help take the load off of Granger or someone that Granger can help take the load off of. The latter would probably be better idea. I have said several times on this board they need to improve their size. Hibbert is playing well this year but tends to struggle against other guys his size. They have don't have much at PF which is a strong spot for some teams in the East (KG, Amare, Bosh, Boozer, Josh Smith or Horford, Brand). Pacers have a lot bigger problems than Danny Granger IMO. Yes he takes bad shots at times but I would force up shots too if my option was to pass it to some of those guys too.

I don't know why some of you bother to bring up Stephen Jackson. He was a thug and he was selfish. He needed to be gone!

Comparing Miller and Granger's scoring averages and using that alone to suggest Granger is better or as good, is just absurd.

if jackson is so selfish why has other teams voted him captain such as the warriors and the bobcats.

I will have to say this...Granger has the ability...people who say he isn't a very talented player are just flat-out blind...I was watching a pacers game with one of the smartest basketball people around and he said, "That guy isn't lebron, KD, Or Kobe BUT, he has the talent to be mentioned in the same breath of those people...it's just what the current system handcuffs him with..."
