The Varsity Level
A friend in TH just informed me that the TH phone book has 2 for 1 ticket coupons for men's basketball in the coupon section. Sounds like that word should be spread, especially for this Wednesday's game. All you Hautians should find your phone books, clip some coupons, and hand them out at work, to friends, etc. and get the place rockin' this Wednesday. Spread the word on this great deal! This is the first I've heard of it!!!

They are valid for the Upper Concourse ONLY...

the Lower Bowl will be 40% full at best -- Some HomeCourt Advantage

Oh well, fans are fans. I'll take what we can get there Wednesday. Hopefully it's not on TV. Wouldn't that make it $4 a ticket if it's 2 for 1? That's not a bad deal. They should promote that more. Gotta do something to get people to the big, meaningful games so we have that home court advantage!

Hell if you are going as a single then get the 2 for 1 and take the other ticket outside the ticket office and sell it for $5 and the game will only have cost you $7 - not a bad deal! I think regular ticket price is 12$.

I mean you have to consider that these people were going to get a ticket anyways, so instead of just giving them the ticket you might as well make some popcorn money off the ticket. 5$ will get you a hot dog and a coke at half time!

And now I hear that Channel 2 is going to televise it? Why not give even more excuses for people to stay home. Why would you do this??? :censored:

My pops always gets a $6 dollar ticket and then gets one free with that coupon. His "seats" are always in the yellow seats on the south end of the building.

Why dont we promote fans buying tickets in the upper half and moving down to get closer to the action?

My guess is that it would hurt season ticket sales in the lower bowl, thus limiting varsity club donations. They have to make that lower bowl as selective as possible, as much money (I know not nearly as much as some schools require) as season ticket holders are required to pay.

So I paid for a season ticket this year, had I the option of buying a ticket for $6 and just moved down that would have made more sense for me to do that. Boom, 3 less season ticket holders - I have to think my 2 friends would have done the same thing.

I am not saying as a university....I mean us as in a message board...

anyone know how many season tickets there are?

how about the number of seats in the lower bowl? the upper bowl?

If the lower bowl seats 4,500 and we only have 650 season tickets holders; then NO ONE shoudl HAVE to sit in the upper bowl.

Oh exactly my point Dave, I sit in my season ticket seat every game and I also bring large groups of people to every game. Well I gave my season ticket to someone else and had another ticket, still sat in my season ticket seat. Well I get up and go get a drink and when I come back in the middle of the game she checks my ticket right, well she notices that I don't have the right ticket and she is quick to point that out. Well good ole Dave sits behind me and he and his good friends advice her that it ineed my seat!

Ugh! I was like come on lady (I know your doing your job and all) but my name is Morgan, duh! Not to mention their are like 2,000 people at this game!

So yeah that whole moving down concept, they aint interested in that!

I understand why they don't let people move down. If I was in charge of the HC I would do the same thing. It's a way of protecting the value of your season tickets. If people can just buy one in the cheap seat and then just move down then why would you even bother buying the good seats? Especially for an enitre season? Makes perfect sense to me. It's annoying if you are the one who tries to move down but gets caught but I understand completely.
