How many were on the All Bench Team? I am kind of surprised that he got some love but glad he did - especially the way he has come on late in the season! No doubt has had a solid year for the Sycamores.

I hope Jordan comes into Arch Madness with that "unshaven, outback look." Gives him a rougher edge and seemingly, a more competitive demeanor!

Congrat's for the MVC recognition!

No doubt his 47 percent three point average had a lot to do with it. I thought maybe he missed too many games to get that kind of recognition, but I guess he did play in 24. Anyway, very nice to see and congrats!

My comment in no way was meant to slight JP. Very well deserved and very happy for him! :wordyo:

2011 MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE MOST-IMPROVED TEAM
Student-Athlete, School Yr. Pos. Ht. Hometown (High School)
*Anthony James, UNI So. G 6-0 St. Louis (Mo.) Normandy High
Will Creekmore, Missouri State Sr. C 6-9 Tulsa (Okla.) Edison High
David Kyles, Wichita State Jr. G 6-4 Dallas (Texas) Kimball High
Dyricus Simms-Edwards, Bradley So. G 6-3 Peoria (Ill.) Washington High
Antoine Young, Creighton Jr. G 6-0 Bellevue (Neb.) West High
* denotes team captain

So If i read this correctly
Anthony James, UNI So.is the team captain and was Honorable mention all conference
whereas
Antoine Young, Creighton Jr is second team all conference ?
I would think he should have been captain since the decided he was the better of the two by making him 2nd team as opposed to honorable mention .:krazy:

Ok....I voiced my opinions on these awards in another thread and this is not slight to JP....but come on! All-Bench? How many ALL teams are there? Whats next ALL ball boy, or ALL "manager" team. This is just ridiculous...the age of everybody gets a trophy continues...I am just flabbergasted. I can't seem to find a comprohensive list of all awards..but I did find the All Conference I and II, All Bench, All Freshman, All Defensive, and Most Improved in 4 different places...I have to assume there are more than that...wow!

JP is a great player and deserves to be honored for his hard work, but the "ALL Bench" team? WOW!

Having more than one All-conference teams is the same mind set that gave the IHSAA multiple classes in for all sports.

It's the future -- give everybody a ribbon, trophy for participating.

Does the name "All Bench" team bother anyone else? What is supposed to be a positive things come off, at least to me, sounding so negative. Why not all-6th man or all-sub. Until yesterday, I had never heard of such an award anywhere. That said, glad for Jordan however. Any "love" is good love.

How 'bout the All-Stinky Jock Team, dedicated to those who only wash their practice clothes once a season?

We had a dude at Castle HS (family was into logging...or something like that) from the Elberfield area NE of Evansville...his 'friggin football uniform & equipment had so much ammonia in it, it killed the locker room mice! Since he was the biggest player on the team, nobody felt comfortable exposing Health 101 principles to him. This was back in the late 60's...Castle pre-dynasty era.
