I would wager that this kid's actions have zero of the affect that you are calling a cancer.

It sure won't help in the effort to build a new stadium. You can bet your ass football will be gone at ISU before a different stadium is constructed. Just another nail in the coffin. Need to commit resources to our flagship program anyway and stop dilly-dallying with any football scholarship level program. It will be very interesting to see where our new AD's fundraising efforts are headed after the poor way he handled this situation. Terre Haute is slow, very slow, to forgive and forget. Thought they might have made a good choice when they hired him but Strikeout Number One for this decision.

This won't affect a new stadium in any way, what HAS affected a new stadium or a SIGNIFICANT rehab of Memorial is decades of apathy regarding ISU Football and ISU in general by both Alumni AND the fine folks of Terredise.

This will be forgotten before the end of the current season

me thinks you are minimizing and hoping it will be forgotten soon...........I don't think so. so poorly handled by our AD that half of the team will probably copycat it at the SEMO game.........so they can see who has the "balls", the players or the administration. Boys will be boys you know.

Quick.... tell me how many NFL players did the SAME THING this Sunday?

Do I like that he did it? No.
Is it his right as a citizen to do it? Yes -- See U.S. Constitution, Amendment I.

You're a Vet, correct? You recall a little document called the UCMJ? Last time I checked, there is NOT a UCMJ, that outlines what NCAA football players may or may not do UNLESS they play for the following teams:

USMA, USNA, USAFA, the US Coast Guard Academy and the US Merchant Marine (possibly)...

I doubt the NCAA has numbers on how many ROTC scholarship kids play football; I'm sure there some in other sports as well.

I doubt we'll see those players ape our player...

And you believe the AD and/or Sanford and/or Dr Bradley should expel him from school, strip him of his scholie and frog march him back to California?

Guess we'll find out at the next home football game, right?

What is your over/under on the 2015 average attendance number, 5,060?

First game at Butler had 5,625 in attendance.

I couldnt give a legit over/under until I have the result of the semo game and the weather forecast

Football program out of comtrol ? ................read the 142 comments. There has not been a football article about ISU ever that gathered 142 comments anywhere.

Indiana State’s sportsmanship. The Sycamores put on a clinic in how not to act when you’re an FCS team walking into a Big Ten stadium, from taunting Gopher players on their victory walk into TCF Bank Stadium to dancing on the logo at midfield during pre-game warm-ups. Indiana State head coach Mike Sanford was not immune from the Sycamores’ unfortunate antics, providing bulletin board material with a radio interview in which he referred to the Gophers as no better than a good FCS program. Shockingly, Leidner and the Gophers were not amused — nor intimidated. See: The scoreboard.

I read most of the 142... the majority are inane statements. but there are 142 comments... any press is good press, right? Rule # 1 in the PR world??

Has ANYONE actually heard the alleged comment from Coach Sanford? Hell, on Saturday afternoon, even the GOFERS were chuckling about not know WHICH Gofer actually heard it -- it's a flipping HOAX. Ignore it.

Knowing the the talent level of our team; let's see how good the Gofers are come the big ten, i mean 12, no -- 14, the big 14 season...

He said it on Luke Martin's show last week and Luke doubled back on it Monday. However, they twisted his words. He said something to the affect of the idea that the team needs to look at the game as if the team they're playing is no better than an upper level FCS team. He was trying to get across a message indicating that the team shouldn't be awestruck by playing a big ten team.....but it could be construed to mean the Gophers are no better than an upper level FCS team.

Im saying NONE of the taunting even happened. so far i have presented at least as much evidence than anyone saying the contrary has.

So, he didn't say what they CLAIM he said...

I'm shocked... SHOCKED an opposing team, coaching staff, fan base would twist a comment into an insult...

Agree --- I think the Gofers were struggling to FIND a reason to fire themselves up in order to not look bad...

not surprised; pretty standard for teams

Here is a link to hear for yourself. I believe he made it clear he respected MN but wanted our players to have confidence they can win. I believe he was complimenting the Valley not dissing MN. By the way NDSU (2007 & 2011) has beaten MN twice and South Dakota beat them in 2010.

Somebody else said and I agree, do you need bulletin board material to get up for an FCS team?

All it does is make for a lively pregame. If that is occupying your brain when you are identifying offense or defense then you are not focused on the game. Its the player's job and it's no different that any of us getting up for work in the morning.

I assume they were equally angry with the officiating crew who forced players to stand on the "M" in a formation while they threw coins onto it. And if that weren't enough, shortly after that they all got on the "M" and did a ritual where each of them touched eachother's hand then ran in separate directions.

once again, if this is how they are preparing for games, the program will be losing to Brock Spack's boilermakers in the next few years in the cellar of their conference.
