Been a supporter for years and love to sit a the 50 yd line. Get there early like always and they tell me I can't sit in the middle section..."all the way up" they told me. Havent missed a game in a few years and that doesn't set well. Said that entire section was for season ticket holders only...if most fans wouldn't have snuck into the section it would have been a huge void in the middle. I heard and saw a lot of upset fans over this...Ron, let's not do anything to discourage people from attending...can this be addressed?

Agreed. I get season tickets, but also get players tickets. We've been going to the games for 3 years now (all but one home game), and yesterday were told that we had to move (we didn't). My question is why are the players tickets "general admission" and not in the middle of the field? I'd hate to have to move just because some people decide that it would be nice to finally come out to see a winning team.

Agreed

Been to every game home and away the last two years. Sit at 50 yard line every week about row 13 with all the other FAITHFULLs that drive 18 - 20 plus hours to the Dakotas, 8 or 9 hours to northern Iowa, 8 hours to missouri and now have to move because of the maybe 20 people that occupied the section lower level. I bet the boys loved to turn around and see it empty and then having to look and try to find their family and friends. 3000 maybe there yesterday, and most having to sit the other side of the 40 on each end. It s bad enough when we have to sit in the worst seat in the house on the road but this was unbelievable.

This also happens at the Hulman Center. Half of the lower section will still be empty after halftime but you better not try to fill it in or the "cops" will run you out. If the demand ever exceeds the supply I could see it.............otherwise it is ridiculous as it just pisses off fans that attend every game and sit where their pocketbook will allow and erodes any home-court advantage that might be mustered by getting more people down close to the action. Duh................................

Very stupid move on the university's part. Don't worry about season ticket holders, worry about getting more people to the games and getting them to show up regularly.

Because of having a prosthesis on my left leg and my right foot in a walking boot I can not navigate steps without falling so I have sat in row 46 seat 30 every game this year with no problem. Yesterday I had a guy show up and say "I have the first four seats". Every game there are handicapped people literally stumbling up and down steps trying to get to seats they say are for the handicapped. First you have to navigate the cables and cords to say nothing of the cameras and operators. Truth of the matter is that Memorial Stadium does not meet ADA requirements. I had friends I brought to the game and they were told at the ticket booth that all seats are general admission.

If ISU is actually making people move out of the center (50 yard line) section, that's about the dumbest thing they could do. I can see not wanting people with general admission tickets sitting in the area with seatbacks (although that's not full, either, and after the last decade of ISU football, what makes them think that those seats should be special, unless you actually have a ticket for that seat and someone is sitting in it...), but what's up with the rest of that section? Geez, we've won two whole games against D-I opponents. Now is not the time to go "Seat Nazi" on the crowd and make people move. That's just stupid...:naughty:

You guys are killing me today. So are you seriously saying that the University shouldn't try to reserve seats for people that buy season tickets? Really? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

However, suggesting that they only ask that those seats be left open through the 1st quarter and then allowing anyone to sit there is a reasonable suggestion.

Season tickets don't cost much now, but I don't think most people that buy season tickets with reserved seats on the 50 yard line would be too happy to show up and find out that a bunch of people that decided to come out for their 1 game for the year had taken all the best seats.

I don't think opening up seats in the first 25 rows 40 to 40 is going to change anything at all in regard to the number of people coming to games.

I can understand that someone might be frustrated if the ticket staff told them all seats are general admission if there actually some reserved seats. However, the answer here may be as simple as making sure all the ticket staff sets appropriate expectations at the gates.

I've not seen an usher checking ticket stubs once the game is underway to keep people out of seats (not to say it doesn't happen, but I haven't seen it).

Sure they should reserve them, but reserve a set number in a set area, not an entire section that's bigger than what is needed.

I have looked at the brochure that was sent out for football season tickets and there is nothing on it at all about reserved seating. There is not even a seating chart. So how does one get a reserved seat? Is there specific criteria? Is it just up to somebody's discretion? The least they can do is get a stencil made and spray paint "reserved" on the seats and leave the others open. The tickets for the reserved seat holder should be printed with the seat location on the ticket for easy identification. On the topic of handicapped seating there is nothing in the brochure about the topic at all.

On Sat. the usual folks that always sit between the 40's were told to move by ushers that sat on the edges. No warning, been sitting there for the last two years along with most of the parents and family of the players. After moving the first 25 rows or so may have had 25-30 people until a few people migrated into the area after the ushers left. I completely understand the season ticket issue but this seemed like a knee jerk reaction without much thought. I would think that someone would really like to take care of the several hundred folks that come as part of the parents and family group because they were the ones affected on Sat..

It's just stupid. Those that are there should be treated with absolute respect. If it's someone's first experience do all you can to make them come back. Don't chase them away.

is it possible that after homecoming they thought the crowd would be larger. It was crowded enough then that i just stayed on the field the whole game instead of going up to my regular spot because it looked so crowded there. maybe people who had those seats reserved had a problem sitting in them.

neither did most, as I said earlier i think it was knee jerk but hope they get it resolved before next home game. alot of folk upset about having to move.

Agree 100%. The timing was ill-conceived at the very least. Should have been thought out more.

I'm confused...

there are problems at a State event between season ticket holders and single-game / walk-up buyers??

This has to be a first...

Great win on Saturday guys -- hoping for another in the Great White North on Saturday!
