RIP My Sycamore Basketball Shorts

Well, just finished up my laundry and my Nike Sycamore basketball shorts finally have been sent into clothing heaven. Back in 1998-99 (I believe it was around then), Nike put out a throwback line for Indiana State and Michigan State stuff in honor of the Bird vs. Magic National Championship game.

I wore the hell out of those shorts, probably at least once a weekend and they saw thousands of pickup games in the Arena when I was still a student. Honestly don't know what I'm going to do without them -- and I'd kill for another pair.

What am I gonna do?

Ouch, that sucks. Mine are still in decent shape, little faded, but not too bad.
And there is no way I'd part with them. Just keep an eye on eBay.

You got a pair too? Believe they were from the "Nike Rewind" line. My ISU patch on them faded years ago but they were the best. Man, what sucks is you can't just go out and even get a pair of replica Sycamore shorts.

Watch eBay..Me and my roommate each got old ISU Baseball Jerseys for like $20 last year. I can't fit into it (It says size 46, but I find that hard to believe). It does make good deco tho. Don't know how old it is, but it has the Quabachi patch on the sleeve.

Yea, they are pretty sweet. I had to get them off of eBay and they weren't too cheap. Paid almost $30 for them, but totally worth it.

old isu clothing

i still have a shirt and shorts that were the gray ISU-athletic department issued workout clothes for athletes back in the 70's. i was wearing the shirt one time at wrigley field and bob warn stopped me and asked me where i got it. i thought at first he was going to confiscate it, but we ended up having a long conversation about Wally Johnson and several of his other former players who were in the majors. It was a relief because I thought I was going to go back to my seat shirtless at first.
