Should be no surprise, we've been expecting this,
Please explain.
He's interviewed in recent years for other jobs, so we all knew his days at ISU were numbered, just surprised it didn't happen sooner

Since he's turned down other offers, I thought that was a good sign for him to stay much longer. With that said, 11 years is a good run.
I agree. I believe RP took the ISU job after he said there needed to be some upgrades to certain athletic facilities (e.g. New weight room) . Let's hope that our administration & board doesn't get hung up on the Hulman Center renovation issue and/or the future of our football program and/or stadium. I understand we have limited funds, but we at least need to let the AD candidate finalists know what our position is. Maybe let them know we intend to build a new stadium, but there needs to be significant fund raising. To say we don't know might scare off a lot of quality applicants.Let's hope we do it right and conduct a national search and not just put someone in that seat on the "cheapo". I'm sure all currently on the staff are good people but I don't think any are among the "best available candidates".
Prettyman did an outstanding job and should receive all of the recognition he's due as he departs. He certainly brought us out of a very dark period in ISU sports history.
I'm excited to see who they hire and what they bring to the table. The potential advantage here is to see what someone new can bring, a new vision, new energy. They'll certainly face plenty of challenges, but that's all the more reason to hire someone experienced, but ambitious.
I always thought Angie Lansing was the the AD in waiting? I am certainly not one in the know, so does someone else have any information?

Don't know where that thought came from? Don't believe Dr. Bradley can afford to make a mistake with this hire. Do not need to go through the situation Bradley (Bradley Universtiy) did that almost killed their athletic program before they finally appear to have made a home-run hire. The last female AD at ISU had things headed down a deep hole during her tenure.
