How did our commits do?

Was at the game last night...

THN runs a pretty frustrating offense, and they must not work on "feed the post" very much - or if they do, it isn't required during game time. Gant, O'Leary and Newton were repeatedly open for entry passes that never came last night. They just seemed to notice they were open a little too late to get the ball inside.

THN settled for a lot of 3's - especially in the first half.

Gant specifically... same observations that many have made:
  1. Fairly Quick for a big guy
  2. Sees the floor well
  3. Very unselfish
  4. Able to get the pass to the open player when they come with weak side help
and of course the biggest knock on him right now is... he gets the ball knocked away often. It happened again last night. They are going to HAVE to work on his hands and his ability to hang on to the ball in a crowd.

He gave up the opportunity for more points last night - giving assists to Blank and others.. Had 2 or 3 dunks against a much smaller team that was double-triple teaming him all night.

I think someone can be too unselfish, but it's hard to criticize good passing when that is the prerequisite to good team basketball. However, there is a time to pass and there is a time to shoot. Lansing can fix that.

I agree wholeheartedly. Justin has a very solid skill set and is very coachable. Lansing will be able to shape him into a really good post player.....tweaking his fundamentals here and there. It will be great to have a player that you don't have to teach post moves to. I think one of the most overlooked aspects to Justin's game is his footwork. He has quick feet and that gets him into good scoring position!

West T goes down to a very below average Owen Valley team. Makes the sectional that much easier for Sullivan.

West Vigo played terrible the last 3 games of the season, so I kind of saw that loss coming. Well my high school basketball days are over now.
