That's why Nate and Seth need to be working on this NOW. Not that Steve is the end-all-be-all but this is a very unique opportunity to get a local product that is a proven winner. The Cap Campaign raised nine figures. I have to believe there's a way to find a few hundred thousand to buy out Mallory and get Englehart a salary that will draw him here. The program badly needs the kind of hype an Englehart hire would generate.

Agree....What I meant was the AD and Budget VP need to be making the fiscal moves now so when the time comes to try and get him ISU is in a position to do so. For now Nate should certainly be back-channeling Englehart's agent and getting some feelers on what it will take to get him.

For sure. But middle of the 3rd down 38-20 and you just scored? Why take such a huge gamble and give them great field position? Kick it, hope the D holds, and try and make it 38-28. Instead, SIU got the ball and great field position and scored again easy.

Not being a sportsman and lacking "team" playing instincts (could barely trust my own family members let alone complete strangers), I'm wondering if being humiliated every week on a playing field is a character building experience? Maybe it's time to save some athletic department money forget footbal and concentrate on sports we used to excell at i.e. gymnastics, wrestling, swimming...

I know you can you hardly be more connected to TH and ISU than englehart. But if you have higher aspirations than FCS football you don’t come to ISU, period. Our football program is not a springboard, it’s an anchor professionally as well

I'd argue if you came to Terre Haute, won consistently and turned State into a playoff contender in the MVFC against NDSU and SDSU, you're potentially getting a P4 job versus his current path would likely have to go a MAC/CUSA level and prove it again. Bigger boom/bust chance.
