Just for fun and I'm curious who people like to listen to either on the radio, podcasts, tv or online.

You gotta pick one sports media talking head to listen to who's it going to be? We will throw some local/regional folks into the equation for fun. If I forgot someone please feel free to post and let me know - these are the power players.

Dan Patrick
Doug Gottlieb
Rich Eisen
Mike Greenburg
Colin Cowherd
Scott Van Pelt
JMV
Dan Dakich

I used to like Cowherd but after watching/listening to him daily he wore me down with his amazing insight that over time contradicted itself.

I voted Dan Patrick - he posts almost all of his full interviews on his youtube chnl which I love. I don't have to search really hard for the content that I want to see and I really like that. He really does a better job interviewing his guests than any of the other people - he doesn't push his opinion as hard or often as some of these guys. I also like the fact that he interviews guys I enjoy listening to. He had Dale Jr on his set recently for 30 minutes - that was an awesome interview.

I love Chris Webber and he interviews Chris often. Webber talks about calling the TO at Michigan in this interview and it's pretty funny.

I don't love Charles Barkley, in fact not much of a fan but this recent interview with DP is hilarious. A lot of good content and talked quite a bit about Bird.

He always has John Daly on and I'm a big Daly fan. Here is one of his more recent interviews with JD - really cool.

Always been an svp guy. Doesnt take himself too seriously and talked a lot of college bball when he had his own show..most nat. guys only touch on it for 2 weeks in march. Jmv is ok for a local guy and loves his trees..dp is good..gottlieb and dakich are the worst two on that list. Dont like their smug attitudes but more importantly they just produce shitty radio shows. Colin is smug too...but at least his show is semi entertaining and flows well

Yeah I pretty much agree with all that. SVP is funny and really interesting to me. JMV covers the trees so I listen while I'm in Indy. Don't really care for Gottlieb that much but he's not terrible. Dakich is terrible to me - no interest in him at all. Colin is alright just depends on what the topic is, I particularly liked when he kept calling out the Colts brass last year he was spot on about how awful our roster was.

Nationally, I like Patrick (got my vote) and SVP. I like the fact that Patrick will ask the tough question but has enough class to do it without sounding like a prick. Also like SVP exactly for the reasons given and the fact he homers for his alma mater -- he has real sincerity. Also loves that he talks opening about his message board fanboyism -- he still posts on the Maryland Rivals board from time to time.

Locally, here in Indy, I like JMV and I'll buck the trend and enjoy Dakich. JMV is like SVP in that he is pop culture and will mark out for the Trees. I do subtract points from him since he won't follow or mention SP on the air but he does Peegs or GoldandBlack, the IU and PU Rivals boards. Weak.

As for Dakich, once you realize his schtick has layers, he does drop some good stuff. I also agree with most of his thoughts on college hoops and hearing someone talk about Knight in disgust is refreshing considering damn near everyone still thinks that asshole is a God. Great coach, sure... but is/was an absolute puke of a human being.

I like Dan Dakich as the color man most of the time. If you actually listen to what he has to say, you will actually learn a thing or two about basketball. He will call out when there are mismatches on the court that they should exploit, when a team does something stupid or smart, why he likes a certain player in a situation. He basically says it like he sees it and I can respect that.
