If I remember it right, we turned it over after a “bobbled” pass, and two quick passes later they played a through ball to their forward that our defender missed on the attempt to win the 50/50, and the UT Martin forward got in behind. They really struggled with the 50/50 balls, and more so the 2nd ball. For some reason we misplayed a good number of them. Just not a good outing. I guess the one positive is, as bad as we played there were still plenty of chances for us to equalize.

…a little more about their turf. It was a really soft spongy Bermuda. It looked like it was cut short, but when I walked across to field to say hi after the game I could see why it would take some getting used to. Especially if all your practices and games up to that point have been on firm fast turf. They seemed to settle in by the second half and we were connecting a lot better but that turf was definitely a factor out of the gate. Not an excuse, just an observation.

I see it all the time. My daughter’s ECNL National team are “turf babies” as we call em. They dominate everyone on turf, cause they practice and play everyday on it. As soon as they go to natural turf the struggle passing and receiving as it’s is totally different. I didn’t know they were on natural. That make total sense from what I see with her national team.
 
Nice bounce back 3-0 shutout win over SEMO. The Sycamores really played well. Back to Terre Haute for a couple days before another 2 game road trip to Bellarmine and Marshall. Go Sycamores.
 
0-0 at the half, ISU’s futbol team vs Bellermine. One ball off the crossbar from being 1-0 good guys! Other than that pretty quiet game and hope for lots of second half fireworks!

Frustrating game for sure. Not their best outing, but they had their chances at the end. Marshall won’t be an easy one so hopefully they bounce back like they did last weekend.

I didn’t realize till they said last night, we have 16 seniors on the team! I know our frontline is fairly young. Is it the backfield where we are gonna get hit the most after graduation?

It’s a good portion of starting line up. Between seniors and grad students there is a lot leaving. Autum (CB) and Brooklyn (def / mf) are the only two non seniors / grad students that are guaranteed starters. Alex has been doing great as a forward and getting some starts recently, and she is a true freshman.
 
Well the ISU futbol team got another 1-1 tie yesterday against the Marshall Thundering Herd. Well it’s better than a L especially on the road.

Tough battle in Huntington. Maddie A came up big with a couple nice saves. Time for the Sycamores to get on the front foot!! 0-0 at the half.
 
Unforunate ending. Need to watch that goal back. Maddie seemed pretty insistent she was fouled and she doesn’t complain unless it’s for a good reason. Damn.
