Half - 0-1 UIC

We battled but just couldn’t get a good look in the final 20. The weak side is wide open if the girls can just switch it out there. We have some work to do in the second half.

Valley Soccer! It’s teally tough to win on the road!!!! Thus why we are undefeated at home
True. I sure wish we would have put the pedal down though against SIU when it was 1-0 in the second half. Paul took the foot off the gas to protect the lead. I don’t think we would have conceded if we stayed on the front foot and we sure need those 2 extra points now!!

If you have a moment, think some positive thoughts and send them towards Murray Kentucky. Coming home with 3 points would be massive for the Sycamores. It would be a great way to step into Senior weekend, and a Sunday matchup against Evansville. First things first, get the W!! Let's go Trees!!

I did some number crunching last night, and although it looks like the Sycamores are in the MVC tourney, there is a scenario if Murray State wins all three of their remaining games, they could over take us unless we take 1 point in the last two games. The interesting thing, is we can host a playoff game with a win, and maybe host two games with wins over Evansville and Belmont. Let’s hope the Memorial Stadium magic continues, and the Sycamores can remain unbeaten at home. The next two weeks will be interesting because to say it’s bunched up would be an understatement. Lots of movement in the standings is very likely. Buckle up and Go Trees!!

Thanks for the regular updates wrt the Lady Trees' and 'the beautiful game'

Ideally the Lady Trees CRUSH the Puce Deuces this Sunday and remove most doubts wrt the MVC Tourney

I know VERY little about soccer - but that ISU goal was a thing of beauty
It really was. Frankly, we were struggling offensively up until that point and Mackenzie put the team on her back with some individual brilliance with that goal and it changed everything. It is definitely what they needed heading into Senior weekend!

Two amazing second half goals for a come from behind draw. A really solid half of soccer that will hopefully keep the momentum going. Unclear where we stand after today but we are for sure in the playoffs. Big one of Sunday against a good Belmont team for anyone who wants to extend your homecoming weekend. The girls would love the support.

Homecoming weekend update...

Standings and seeds are starting to take shape. The confusing thing is the MVC website shows 5 and 6 hosting round 1 on Thursday, and Paul is telling the girls that his sources said that 3 and 4 host the opening games AND quarterfinal matches on Sunday. I am sure that will clear itself up before I need to make my travel plans for Thursday. Either way, Missouri State has the #1 seed locked up. They have easily been the best team this year which is evident by their record. UIC sits in the second slot for the moment, but Drake is yet to play their final game, and I predict they jump UIC and claim the second seed. Seeds 4 and 5, currently Belmont and UNI, are up in the air and those teams could easily flip flop after Sunday's action. The Sycamores need a win to guarantee the 6th seed. If we lose to Belmont, Illinois state could overtake us with win or tie over UNI as they hold the head-to-head against us. A tie from both of us keeps us as the 6th seed. There is a scenario where there could be three teams tied with 12 points for 6, 7, and 8 and if I understand the tiebreakers properly, head-to-head will get thrown out and goal differential would decide, leaving the Sycamores as the 6th seed.

Confusing enough??

...forgot to mention the scenario of SIU jumping Illinois State into the 7th seed if they beat Evansville and Illinois State loses to UNI.

It was a great homecoming weekend. The football team won on Saturday and the soccer team won today. It was the first time I ever attended a soccer match. I had a good time hanging out with Howie.
