I've been scribbling on my drawing board and I'm thinking about doing a Sycamore sports podcast. Would anyone be interested in listening to it? Additionally, would anyone in Indy be interested in actually being involved?

Dude, I think this is a fantastic idea. And I wish I had thought of it. I would definitely listen.

I'd listen. I liked the podcasts you did back in the day...

I'm still kicking around the tires and investigating if I could come up with enough content, but if I did do one, what kind of things would you like to see/listen?

I'd for sure listen and if I am ever in the Indy area I'd love to get in on a Pod Cast with you, I really enjoyed the video post game reports at the MVC tourney last year.

If I was you I wouldn't do anymore than 1 podcast a week and that might even be to often. Although I don't think you will have any trouble coming up with content.

Topics:
Game Recaps (obviously most of the people on this site care about football and basketball) so those need to be the main topics.
Other Sport(s) updates - top performers/performances or just scores
University News (that is note worthy)
Facilities update(s)
Recruiting Spotlight Give an update on a recent recruit that has created some buzz
Tailgating/Social Opportunities to meet folks from Sycamorepride.com
Reminders to find us on Facebook and Twitter and a reminder about Sycamore Pride.com Supporting Membership

Those would be my suggestions

I agree, a weekly podcast would prob make the most sense. And having guests, whether they be players, coaches, or fans would be enjoyable to listen too. I very much enjoyed SSOM's post-game vlogs from the tourney (even if he did pronounce McWhorter as McWurther....just ribbin' ya SSOM) and it seems like this podcast idea would be a great addition to the season. And actually, once the basketball season starts, seems like a twice-weekly cast would work too, since we play twice a week usually. But in the meantime, once a week would be fine and dandy.

Other things for the Podcast:

Recruits and Recruitment Information
Stats Analysis
Practice Updates
Game Reports
Sycamores in the Community (whatever that means to you)
MVC Comparisons (whatever that means to you)
Current Topics on Sycamore Pride
Sycamores in the News...spotlights on media-mentions
Readings of Comedic Haikus from Sycamore Fans in Los Angeles
David Letterman's Mom

BTW... a big thanks for you that became Supporting Members recently. Your contributions are what allowed me to purchase the equipment and even give the podcasting a shot.

Any other ideas on what you're like to listen about?

-Where Are They Now type stories.
-Sycamore Kin - a monthly series where you talk to/interview the parents of a student athlete.
-Know Your School Administrator - who's that sitting behind the desk of the University Bursar? Why it's Kathryn Modesitt.
-Appearances by Brian Fritz and Todd Golden, et al.
-Trivia and Games of some sort.

You could have people email you in questions or opinions. That's what the "pro's" do when they want to fill space on their shows.
