I definitely rolled my eyes at that one. I'm not sure I've ever attended a Mallory practice, but I attended a lot of Miles' practices and some Sanford practices. They would practice at 9 in the morning, in the early or late afternoon, and even after dark. That might be the lamest excuse I've heard yet.

If you look at his demeanor at his post game interview, he could care less how bad his team is. Kept looking around wishing the guy would stop asking questions why your team sucks. I sure hope Clink is reading these posts, and make him accountable for the disaster he puts on the field.

I don't think it's fair to say that Mallory doesn't care. I'm quite sure it's tearing him up inside, but I get the feeling he just doesn't know what to do to fix it. By all accounts, Curt Mallory is a fantastic person who cares deeply about his players and the program, and is a wonderful representative of ISU. I just think he's in a situation in which there is no winning.

A real big problem I see for next season is that we're losing Harry Van Dyne and Dakota Caton to graduation who were our top 2 receivers. Kevin Barnett will be out leading receiver (167 yards) that returns next year. After that Dinka (a RB) was 4th on the list, which shows how our lack of depth at that position. I think losing Dante Hendrix to graduation in 2022 really hurt us this year at the WR position, and now with those two gone it will be interesting to see who steps up now. ISU really needs to start using the Tight Ends more in the passing game too.
