Rumor has it that the other MVC coaches have chipped in the money to offer Mallory another extension.

Until 2031 baby!

44-7 Birds is your final.

A couple more beatings before we get to possibly get a win versus Western Illinois.

Can't believe Clinkscales gave Mallory a 5 year extension. At the time it was a rather stupid decision since the program under his leadership was already declining by that point. Now it looks like it will probably go down as the absolute most boneheaded thing he will ever do as AD at ISU. 4 more years of this nonsense, and when the new coach comes in (assuming we even have a program by that point) he will spend at least 2 seasons having to clean up the huge mess.

I'm not sure if I'm more angry or sad or maybe just a mixture of both, but seriously who is going to want to play here? The writing is on the wall that we will at a minimum suck for another 6 straight seasons and Mallory's offense has to be the worst offensive scheme in the entire country. Even his defense sucks. Personally, I think he's in way over his head and has absolutely no idea what he's even doing. If we had played that COVID season his coaching record would be even worse, and personally I think that's the real reason we didn't play.

If we hadn't of gave him that stupid extension we could have sent him down the road after this season. Just dumb, dumb, dumb. I don't like calling for coaches' heads, but literally no one is proud of the state of this program, and this is fully his program and his players.

So at this point, best case scenario is it will be another decade for maybe our program to be somewhat respectable again in the FCS. After we spend another $50 million in the mean time to get there. Boys; the writing is on the wall.

I can answer this, and I am being serious when I say this.

The kids that will continue to want to play here are a lot of the same kids Mallory is getting now. Ones with no other offers to play at this level.

It has been pointed out by others that when you look at a lot (not all, but many) of our recruits, when they announce on social media they have an Indiana State offer you also see that it is their only offer at this level. The majority of their other offers are at the DII level. State isn’t beating out other Valley schools or even OVC schools to land recruits. They are beating out much smaller programs.

Add in the fact that very few seem to develop in their time here and you end up with a roster full of kids who aren’t good enough to win in this league or even the other FCS leagues.
