Do we think Avila gets on MVC first team? (100% in my opinion) I keep seeing that Brodie is back at Drake. Dudes gotta be 30 years old

Nope. I think he gets on 2nd.

Born - Northern Iowa
Tyson - Belmont
DeVries - Drake
Leons - Bradley
Clay - Missouri State

If Clay wasn't a senior and likely to be the top player on Missouri State this year, I think you could make a case with Robbie and like 2-3 other guys. He's the 5th guy in on my list above with Born, DeVries and Tyson being the top 3 (in no order) and Leons being #4 since he is essentially the MVC DPoY and likely going to actually be an offensive focus this year with Mast gone.

I went back and checked past few seasons and there's always been at least one 5 man. So in that case if MVC does have a 5 man who get's that spot. It would come down to Robbie or Brodie wouldn't it?

Tough to argue with that pre-season.

Robbie will likely be 2nd team but on the best team in the league 👌
I agree however if I wanted to play devil's advocate (even though Cade Tyson is really good) will he be able to produce as Belmont's number 1 option. Last season he was the 3rd option and benefitted from Sheppard and Friberg, as he should. I suppose you could nitpick any roster though and say similar things.

Yeah I agree with those, I guess I meant to say he is a top 5 player in the conference in my opinion, which doesn’t matter

For sure. Robbie was highly protected offensive with Coop, Cam and Voss. Certainly expect him to have the ball in his hands more this year and he still has big time scorers around him in Swope and Conwell.

Also, really hoping Daughtry can develop into a big, athletic 4 in the mold of Clay, yet better outside shot.

Should give Larry a TON of confidence heading into this season knowing he's getting that sort of respect around the league. No that I need to tell anyone here this - but this stretch was elite and resulted in a 4-1 record and take away some shit ass officiating the 1/11 SIU game should have been a win.

The problem is consistency... How do you get that out of him over the course of 30+ game schedule?! Take away this 5 game stretch where he scored into double digits in all 5 games he only had 5 games the entire season where he reached double digits. Not that we really need him to score 15-20 points per game. But I think him getting in that 10-14 points logging the kind of minutes he's going to log this season would be really big for us! Him being a threat to score opens up so much of his game from a passing standpoint as well - it makes defenses respect him and have to try and stop him from scoring.

Swope makes the 3rd team as the only incoming transfer to make a list. I did not expect to see Larry but happy to see he’s getting love. Congrats to them all.

Biggest snub for me is probably JaCobi Wood from Murray State. I think people sleep on how efficient he was last year for the Racers.
What about the unknown. Conwell?????? If he shows up like we think he can I would imagine a second team placement for him. What's your thoughts??

Larry getting second team is a nice surprise.

Being picked 4th, nothing wrong with that...even if the homer in me does think we're a top-3 team.

Swope got the love. Personally, I don't like putting transfers on the preseason team and think it should be reserved for those that played in the conference the prior season.

If Conwell plays as he has looked in our practice vids and the first scrimmage, he is likely going to end up 1st or 2nd team.
