I find it more "analytical" just reading the STATLINE...I create my own ballpark noises, kinda like Marv Bates & WGBF in E-ville back in the mid-60's. Still yet to record my "Popcorn, peanuts, candy apples" yell though.

3-0 Sycamores play UALR today at 2 pm. Can watch for $5.95 at http://lrtrojans.com/watch/?Live=57

I see where ISU has tabbed LHP Trent Lunsford as our starter. He had the sophomore blues last year after a respectable 1st season. Will be interesting to see where he's at THIS season.

Hannah's is also replacing LFer Cody Gardner and Tony Rosselli who've both struggled at the plate so far. Frosh Clay Dungan in LF and senior Gutteriez in CF today. He's giving Zahn a break @ 1B today in favor of RS Frosh Tofteland. Good moves toward finding the right balance...leaving too damn many runners on base.

ISU loses as a UALR batter is hit by pitch and the winning run comes home,

overall though a 3-1 start not bad for ISU. No complaints. Fought back today, just couldn't hang on in the 9th

Sycamores Fall To Trojans In Ninth Inning Heartbreaker

Indiana State Baseball (3-1, 0-0 MVC) fell to the Little Rock Trojans (2-1, 0-0 Sun Belt) in a heartbreaker that ended with the Trojans on top 6-5. Despite an early 4-3 lead headlined by senior Andy Young's base-clearing triple in the fourth, the Sycamores just could not outlast the Trojans. A late, clutch RBI from junior Hunter Owen would not be enough to keep Indiana State perfect.

I would NOT have put a frosh P (Tristan Polley) in a position w/ bases loaded and no outs in his 1st-ever collegiate ball game. Mitch must've had a reason beyond "strategy." He hit the next batter w/ his 2nd pitch. Game over.

This four game series allowed the Coach to see a lot of pitchers in action and a handful of outfielders + first base option. Overall a successful weekend on a lot of fronts. The pitchers in game #4 were not as effective as those that worked in the first three games but then again what teams have the depth for four straight games in three days?

We had 3 pitchers that never saw any activity. Not sure if all are healthy and made the trip:

RHP - Ryan Cheek (Sr)
LHP - Greg Kuhlman (R-Sr.)
RHP - Brad Lombard (R-Sr.)
