INDIANA STATE WRAPS UP PRESEASON CAMP WITH ANNUAL BLUE/WHITE SCRIMMAGE
Season Opener Set For Thursday, August 27 At Memorial Stadium

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State football team capped its preseason training camp Thursday night with the annual Blue-White Scrimmage at Memorial Stadium.

Both sides were held scoreless through the first quarter, with the Blue squad jumping on the board first with a five-play, 70-yard drive down the field. Darrius Gates put up a three-yard rushing touchdown at 9:07 in the second quarter, followed by a Braulio Martinez kick to put Blue up 7-0. Martinez added a 19-yard field goal after the half (5:10), extending the lead to 10-0.

For White, quarterback Matt Seliger had a 7-for-8 passing day with 71 yards and no interceptions, while Blue’s Chris Stutzriem completed 5 of 7 passes for 83 yards. Jeramie Gray and Reece Craig were Stutzriem’s main targets with a combined 79 yards on four catches, and Gates carried five times for 45 yards. Craig added 41 yards on eight tries.

The Sycamores, who open the 2009 season’s earliest game in the nation, face Quincy on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. (ET) at Memorial Stadium.

Looking forward to next week. Does anyone know if there is a place to listen to the game online?

Thanks. I have to ask though. Why sign up for Sycamorevision if the first football game they're televising isn't until the South Dakota State game on Sept. 19? For $12 a month I want to see every game, not just one.

Every game will be on Sycamore Vision beginning with Quincy next Thursday.

I just heard from a reliable source ( the player himself ) Koby Kraemer has injured his foot and will be out 6-8 weeks . Is there any other significant injuries going into the season opener ?

Koby was in a cast last night. Antoine Brown, Dan Millington, Donye McCleskey and several others sat out yesterdays scrimmage, mostly precautionary. The bothersome one is CJ Cook. he hasn't practiced for at least two weeks with some type of viral infection I think. Although the new linebackers looked pretty good, CJ was turning into a playmaker at the end of last season, and he has more size than the others. Pat Burke, who has been a starting offensive lineman for the last 2 seasons, is also out for the season with a shoulder injury. I believe he is using his redshirt and will be back next season. I think they came out of yesterday's scrimmage with no new injuries, thank goodness.
