INDIANA STATE WRAPS UP PRESEASON CAMP WITH ANNUAL BLUE/WHITE SCRIMMAGE
Season Opener Set For Thursday, August 27 At Memorial Stadium
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State football team capped its preseason training camp Thursday night with the annual Blue-White Scrimmage at Memorial Stadium.
Both sides were held scoreless through the first quarter, with the Blue squad jumping on the board first with a five-play, 70-yard drive down the field. Darrius Gates put up a three-yard rushing touchdown at 9:07 in the second quarter, followed by a Braulio Martinez kick to put Blue up 7-0. Martinez added a 19-yard field goal after the half (5:10), extending the lead to 10-0.
For White, quarterback Matt Seliger had a 7-for-8 passing day with 71 yards and no interceptions, while Blue’s Chris Stutzriem completed 5 of 7 passes for 83 yards. Jeramie Gray and Reece Craig were Stutzriem’s main targets with a combined 79 yards on four catches, and Gates carried five times for 45 yards. Craig added 41 yards on eight tries.
The Sycamores, who open the 2009 season’s earliest game in the nation, face Quincy on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. (ET) at Memorial Stadium.
