In a "No, this is NOT a joke" decision, it looks like TCU will join the Big East in ALL sports :krazy:

It's purely about football, but how long will this last when you have to fly your golf and tennis teams to Storrs for a conference match :krazy: :krazy: :krazy: ?????

Gotta believe in less than 5 years, the coaches of the non-revenue sports will be raising Cain (can't say hell around TCU) about the travel distances, costs, etc, etc, etc.

Good thing the Big East and TCU are concerned with academics!

I don't get these schools leaving the MWC. Utah makes sense going to the Pac 10, but you have Boise State and the other better WAC schools joining. If TCU sticks around the conference might even get to be an automatic qualifier in a few years. If the Big 12 is going to last, it would be wise to go after TCU as it makes sense geographically and they need to add some legit football programs now.

I think the Big 12 actually had a great summer considering that they got rid of problem oriented schools...Colorado was an eyesore of football program...To be honest except for the last two seasons has Nebraska really been a strength of the Big 12?????...Cut the fat, what a lean and mean conference!...
I don't understand moving to the Big east...Boise State, Utah, TCU and occasionally another school jumps up there to contend! To be honest that conference is better than the Big East right now lol..

What does this do to Villanova's hopes of moving up? If they stay put, does that end the rumors/threat of Youngstown State jumping conferences? Sounds like UCF might be the favorite to round out the Big East at 10 teams. It seems unlikely Villanova would get to jump from 1AA to a 1A qualifier without first joining the Sun Belt or some other second tier conference, but what do I know.

Big East is a BCS automatic qualifier. TCU no longer has to politic to get into the BCS and our now the top gun in an automatic league.

I understand that True Blue I was just saying that I am not sure that if besides the AQ status that it really upgrades their schedule overly...

Considering that Villanova is the defending FCS Champion; in the playoffs this season and that they're already a BIG EAST member...

why is it unlikely? They were approached first by the Big East, have the resources, sit in an INCREDIBLE recruiting pool...

That's the point. Now they don't have to worry the schedule. Win the conference and your in. Go undefeated and your in the NC game. Plus it upgrades there basketball.

I understand them wanting to move up to a bigger conference, but they should be joining the Big12, not the Big East. It geographically does not make sense.

True but for the short term, they'll be at the top of the Big East football pecking order, not necessarily so in the Big Twelve.

Plus, did the Big Twelve want them?

if i was TCU i join the big east over the big 12 any day. big east is a joke and tcu can more easily run the gauntlet in that conference.

TCU gives them nine... they still want Villanova to come up and fill the 10th spot.

They have history with many of the teams in the Big 12 from the SWC days and maybe they didn't want to go back down that road? Before the SEC was the status quo for cheaters, the SWC owned in that department.

The Big East split is only a matter of time. I just hope that when it happens the MVC can make a real run at Marquette and Depaul. It would make great sense for them to join the MVC.

I got a C-note that says when the Big East splits (good bye Non-Football schools!) that groups remains together and cherry picks some Midwest Catholic Atl-10 schools to form the CBbC (Catholic Basketball Conf).

And another $20 that nd will be courted by the CBbC
