The Captain Level
Terre Haute North lost in the opening round of sectionals to Mooresville. Mooresville has a kid named Matt Kinney that is headed to Valpo. He scored 35 against the Patriots.

Northview lost to Plainfield in one of the ugliest games I have ever seen. Northview was up 7 at half and was outscored like 49-11 in the second half. Ugh!

Terre Haute South will play Plainfield on Friday and Mooresville will be playing Martinsville.

I am calling this sectional, "The Natural Disaster".

Yeah pretty ugly.

But seriously the Eitel boys over in Marshall know how to get it done don't they? Gosh darn they are good. Then Lucas who is a great team player decides to go large for 41 on Robinson. Looks like these guys are serious about running the table... 29-0 is awful impressive! Good Luck boys!

a peace offering to morgan....

any word on odum or jarvis and how they are doing health-wise?

I think Morgan is right. I heard that Odum practiced Monday, but was limited. He did not have any swelling, which is a very promising sign. However, he was not getting up and down the court. I think that it will be hard for him to play if he is not 100%. His style of play is to be quick and agile. I HOPE he is able to play as his usual self. He is very fun to watch.

I hope that THS and Mooresville meet in the finals. I would love to see Odum and Kinney go at it.

I don't know anything about Jarvis' condition, but I have heard he will play as well.

Syd. My buddy, my friend, my pal!

Was their any doubt in your mind when I posted that they would both play? "I think Morgan is right", well I know Morgan is right! Have I ever been wrong before? lol Don't answer that. But seriously both are going to suit it up Friday and start for the Braves. He might be somewhat limited but as ESPN would say "He is a quick healer" not sure if I have ever understood that statement.

They met earlier in the year and Odum got the best of him. However, Odum is injured and Kenney looked pretty damn good last night!

Absolutely NEVER!

Haha!

As True Blue said, Matt Kenney looked pretty darn good last night. I can't wait to see the two of them go at it.

Plainfield?

How did Plainfield look? I know they blew out Northview, but it was Northview. Think they can take THS?

Terre Haute South wins the sectional 42-35. Odum took it to Kenney again as he went for 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kenney had 10 points, 6 assists and fouled out with about 2 minutes to go as Odum drove right at him to get his 4th and 5th fouls on back-to-back plays.

Regional...

TH South will play in the Seymour Regional next Saturday at noon, for those of you interested. They'll play Evansville Harrison who I believe has a player going to Southern Illinois next year. The other game will feature Class 4A's #1 Bloomington South v #2 New Albany at 10 am. BHSS has Jordan Hulls, who's an IU signee. Not sure if NA has any D-1 players.

New Albany is undefeated and has 6'8 Donnie Hale.

I hate class basketball, I dont want to drive all the way to Seymour to see this. THS should be playing in a Regional at Hulman Center...

So you'd rather stay in TH and watch them play Shadey Corner HS? If you want to see the game, or whole regional, I don't see a problem going to Seymour unless it's more than 3 hours or so. Then I might opt to watch whatever games are on TV unless THS was my alma mater.

And there is the problem, people not wanting to drive to see this team because "it's too far." :naughty:

Shady Corner HS? They would likely be playing Bloomington South at Hulman Center. Imagine that atmoshphere..

Hulman Center

I remember the good old days of the Terre Haute regional and semi-state. There were some years I dont think a TH team would have to leave TH until the final four. But I also didnt mind going to Roberts stadium in evansville...man these venues need to come back to the tournament.
