This is the thing I think the committee needs to see is that rarely do these 8-8 BCS teams make a run...do the mid-majors who barely get in do sometimes? Yeah there was one a few years ago, George Mason, they did ok ;)

Baggy shorts? And they're fighting over bragging rights? Ha. Who would want to own rights to that? Baggy shorts , what a joke.

These things that 2 generations of boys and now young men in their late 20's and early 30's aren't baggy shirts, these things are CAPRI PANTS for girls.

Talk about the demasculinzation of America, these gay PAN-TA-LOON girl shorts take first place.

If I was a coach, I wouldn't put up with it... Why? Watch the players...they're constantly tugging, pulling, adjusting up and down, and all around....pulling, tugging....STOP it already! What the hell are you doing? Are you going to play basketball, or are you going to play with yourself in those pants made for a masquerade or Halloween party..

Trick-or-Treat, give me something to good to eat in my little girl pan-ta-loon feminine capris.

Whew....damn...I've been wanting to get that off my chest for years.

SSOM...your a sports guy, if long pan-ta-loon shorts are the rage, then why don't the CC guys and the Track and Field guys wear 'em?

Don't answer that. I know why. They don't work. They get in the way. How can you run with a blouse around your knees? well, you can't, that's why.

And soon as some college basketball team mans up and decides that wearing these gay looking capri shorts get in the way of playing the game of basketball, they'll be history there too. I for one, can hardly wait.

.

I know you said don't answer that but some people might really not understand, so I will attempt to explain and it goes beyond things like running.

Well in track and cross country it's more about creating as little resistance as possible than it is about being cool or having swagger. I might add that you can add your own cool factor in track and xc as well by wearing sun glasses, head band and things of this nature. So it's not totally "cool" proof, I think everyone is looking to create and identity when they do anything. With track and xc it comes down to science, if Major Clay is doing the high jump in anything but tights, the are probably going to sag down and brush the bar when he jumps, thus he's not going to be able to jump as high. If current Sycamore Mike Disher is running the Steeple Chase if he wears baggy shorts those things are going to hold more water (= more weights) than traditional running shorts will. Lastly if your running 10 or 15 miles on a hot day, the last thing your worried about is looking cool - you want to be comfortable. It's flat out more comfortable to run in short shorts than it is anything past your knees. Once you get over yourself for a min. then you can realize it's not about looking cool.

With all that being said I am a huge fan of the Fab5 and even a bigger fan of Chris Webber.

On a personal but somewhat unrelated note concerning length of togs, I have noticed very littli difference in the waste size 42" and my new 44" pants which indicates I am more likley ready for 46"..ya think?
