Do they have a gag order on K Smith?
I find this funny myself. He was in the team photo taken, so he is obviously a part of the program. If he is academically ineligible, that should have been said and mentioned in this article since they mentioned Arop. Otherwise, focus on Burnett, Gant and Brown.

The difference, I think, is that as a Prop 48 (or whatever they call it these days), Khristian cannot practice with the team or do anything "official" with them. Maybe that's why he wasn't in the article? Just speculating...

I've read about ineligible players at other programs.

Heck, if IU had one he'd be in the headlines every day in the Indy Star.

When IU sniffs at a recruit, it makes the paper. We get very little recruiting info here except what we get on this forum. (thanks).

It is interesting though. I'm getting anxious. Sounds like Brown is being projected as a PG and Burnett as a 2-3. Curious if Lathan can play guard and Richard can play 3. I think McWhorter has got talent that we need on the floor. He's like a Gabe Moore with a better handle and better shot.
We should be really deep, I think.

I having a feeling that Richard will remain at the 4 unless they feel Gant is ready to start right away. As the season goes on it might change if someone steps up or they are playing a really big team but I think game one we see

Odum
Mcwhorter/Printy
Lathan
Richard
Walker

I think Richard would have been a great fit at the 3 if he had been playing it his whole career but to make the switch from the post to the wing for your senior year is not easy. I could very easily be wrong just a guess on my part he stays primarily at the 4 with a little time at the 3.

I agree. I just think we will be a better team with Lathan at 3 and Richard at 4. That is, unless, RJ or Gant or KD are good enough that they must be on the floor. I really good 4 could force Richard to the 3. If that happens, I don't know if Lathan would be a better 2 guard than McWhorter.

One key thing I hope we can agree on is some depth. Injury and illness can wreck a team, and depth is the best counter to that.

Depth also should mean some great practices, gotta show you deserve the PT.
Is it October yet?

Have to admit, was impressed by Brown's physique in the picture. I didn't realize he was that big. Kid looks like he already has a college body, should hold up well to the pounding and stress the college game will throw at him this season.

Anyone redshirting? If not, that's a pretty full roster.

I think after a couple of weeks of practice at least one redshirt will become obvious. If you have trouble getting someone PT in the 5 on 5, that might be your guy.

with the potential of 3 SR in the wing spots it gets pretty crowded, doesn't it.

The talk the last few years has been how deep we are. This year looks deeper. I look for two to wear red. Brown to take over the PG spot after odum and mcwhorter are gone, then, either gant or burnett depending on development.

Looks like sycamore hoops is taking off. jump on or you re gonna miss one heck of a ride!
