Ya, Ice is still plugging away!

A number of us were "weaned" on that Board. When it first started, I had something like 5 posting names - even had a card next to my PC describing the psych profiles of each! Talk about rousing feathers...

BS......"those were the days. weren't they?" Hard to believe that I have completely made the transition to the "other side." Once I got thru understanding everyone's sarcasm on here, who TRULY knew what they were talking about on here etc, I have learned to love it here. I too had multiple names, the mellow peacemaker, "Indy Blue" and the angry and pissed "Bally #whatever" who conveyed his wrath when he thought someone was way off-base. I think I ended up somewhere between the two monikers here but kept the Bally name. And we KNOW, Jason runs a great show here. Ice has nobody to blame but himself. I checkout SHF on a regular basis but see nothing new and it still has a promo for one of the Out-of-Towner's from TWO years ago. Needs to be a bit more current than that. Ice is a good man for sure and I miss his knowledge.

I had discussions with him and others on that board about 2 things:
1) REQUIRE a login - that site went too long with anonymous posters just posting CRAP to get people going.
2) The format was HORRIBLE... you need the most current discussions to bubble up to the top - it was impossible to keep any discussion going for any amount of time... it kept getting burried.

In the end, it wouldn't have mattered, as Jason knows his stuff... this site is always evolving - the Tapatalk interface, Basketball/Football pages with their schedules, making this a RESOURCE by linking out to other sites and tapping into the social mediums through Facebook and Twitter.

Let ALONE the Recruit profiles that end up becoming Sycamore Player Profile pages... It's just great stuff.

Jason KNOWS how to run a board and make it a valuable, successful community.

Well said, Eleven. I thought I spent too much time on the SHF. More than likely I have DOUBLED the time on here. I guess I think it is WORTH IT~

Part of my reasoning for multiple pseudo's was to stimulate diversity in thought. Keep in mind, this was EARLY in the internet dayz, and there weren't that many people attached to the forum idea. By "rousing feathers," I uncovered the sometimes hidden passion of fanhood.:serenade:

Today while more conservative, I still enjoy the "outer voice" approach. Must be the influence of Thoreau and his "Discourse on Civil Disobedience" still hanging near my heart.
