At the quarter poll and we are 1-4. 4-1 was possible, 3-2 was desireable....1-4 though nearly cements us into Thursday. Next 5 are tough. We're not winning at Bradley, I don't like our chances against Illinois state, but it is at home, and Murray State will always Murray State...but they looked real nice against Bradley. Evansville and Valpo have to be wins. Then the schedule opens up.

I sure hope to hell we get serious about talent acquisition after this season. We can't build a MVC-competitive team by scouring D-II and NAIA. We've got to bring in some solid D-I transfers from somewhere other than the SWAC (Young is a nice complimentary piece, but he isn't "the guy"). We've gotten some pieces, but we didn't get a game changer. We need a game changer or two. If we can't get some $ to bring in this type of player, what are we even doing?

With 11 teams it's kinda weird but you'd typically think the middle team would be 10-10....maybe bradley gets there...I don't know. What is the projected record for 5th place for you guys?

I looked at this recently. Over past 2 years, from memory, the 5th team had a .500 record (tied with another team). Then another year it was 12-8.

Still possible, but gotta win most of the remaining close games.

That 14-win prediction is eerie. Graves won 14 games last season, and his last respective three seasons as a HC before that he won: 14 games, 14 games, and 14 games. Magic number? Do the W and L's during his leave count for/against him in the record books? ISU is currently 8-8 with a 3OT loss and a "ref swallowed his whistle" loss yesterday and I would hope there's at LEAST 6 more wins and an Arch Madness win on the horizon....
 
I’ll be honest: I don’t think we have a shot in hell at Arch Madness and I don’t think there’s any real difference between the teams in 7th through 11th.

So I’m just hoping we get into the 7/10 game, so we can play Thursday night and potentially Friday night - which is a funner experience and means more people traveling from TH - rather than getting stuck in the 8/9 game again and barely anyone going because it’s on Thursday afternoon.

So my preference is:
1) 7-seed
2) 10-seed
3) 8-seed
4) 9-seed
5) 11-seed (because it’s last place)
 
I'm planning on going to the OVC Semis in Evansville Friday (Mar 6) night and then heading over to the ghetto on Saturday for the MVC Semis. Then on Sunday in all likelihood I'll be watching the MVC Championship for free at home on CBS.
