Good article until he takes an unexpected detour and starts beefing (no pun intended) about the freaking Farmers Market... Really? Look, I love the farmers market and I think it's brought some energy to downtown Terre Haute during the weekend. I have never participated in the walk and I have no intention on participating in the event - but come off it! I don't shun anyone who wants to participate in it - I love to drink beer (doing it right now), but the walk is just not my idea of a good time! I think it's a pretty funny event actually and I don't mind that ISU is semi-famously known for "The Walk".

Frankly, I can NEVER recall "the walk" being a tradition @ ISU, at least during my dayz '69-76. Ya, there might've been a few that didn't have cars and were dismayed by the shuttle bus ride to MS...so they opted for "the 2-mile stupor," but there was never any overt machismo associated with such idea. I place much of the blame on the busine$$e$ along Wabash for vibrantly "fertilizing" the idea over the year$, clearly capitalizing off of the youthful indiscretion of participants.

Now we have an ORGANIZED effort to safely continue this perversion in the name of ISU "tradition?" Gimme a break...
