In your opinion(s), will he redshirt because his game is not at the college level or his body? Or both?

This thread will tell you about everything you could ever need/want to know about Bell, the page I have posted a link to I provided a pretty good analysis and address both of your questions. Just take a few minutes to read my post and the others thoughts and let me know what you think!

As an aside, we're getting to the point as a program that any freshman that comes in should redshirt unless they are a national level recruit. That's a sign of progress to me considering we don't land 4 and 5-star prospects here. I'm a firm believer in having a year to acclimate to the program, college life and getting the system down as well as working on your skills and body.

I two would agree with that unless in the rare circumstance that the frosh is better than any option you currently have. If the frosh can contribute then let him learn on the fly. If you have a solid program then you don't have to worry about it because the frosh won't be the best option.

The reason I was asking is because I have seen him play since the 7th grade against my son's team. I have not been sold on him because of his lack of drive for lack of better term. Did not know if he was playing down to the talent around or what. With that being said, when we played against Bell in Charleston, he did not dominate like some one with his talent and size should have. But he has matured on the court, if a call or play went against him, he did not seem to lose his cool which I have seen from him and other CHS players in the past.

Also, the style of play for CHS does not seem suited for Bell. It is like CHS wants to shoot 3s and let Bell get the O board for the putback. As someone stated earlier and I agree, he doesn't want to touched in the post. But looking back, I think he is more a skilled big man than a bruiser who wants to push, shove and elbow in the paint.

I hope the young man has a great career at ISU and cannot wait to see him take the floor. But hopefully, he will have one more bag game in high school when he takes on my son's team. LOL.

From what has been said on this forum, I think there is a question about how hard he plays or even if he is willing to compete in college as a team player, accept his role and work hard. Of course that could be said for a lot of HS players; so I don't like making too big of a deal of it. I guess we'll just have to see how he handles the challenge.
