The Sycamore Level
With about 2 minutes left in the game Sycracuse scores a touchdown but missed the extra-point. The official on the ground ruled the extra-point good and the replay official also ruled it good. But you can clearly see the ball go in front of the goal post. This gave Syracuse a 3 point lead. Toledo marched down the field and got a field goal. But instead of being up 1 they were now tied. Syracuse won on a field goal in overtime. The Big East said they made a mistake on the call and replay.

Yeah...they sure did...some serious big east home cooking there

Pretty easy to screw the other team and then apologize for it after the game. You still get to keep the "W." Talk about dishonest...:naughty:

Maybe Syracuse needs to cheat more in football. It's no doubt helped their basketball program.

Toledo is already petitioning the MAC and big Least to carry it as a Win...

And they said Don Quixote was nuts...

was it big east officials in charge of the replays challenges?

i only ask cause a lot of times schools that have non conference match-ups have agreements such one conference gets to have their officials on the field while the other has officials in the replay booth. lsu vs west va. had sec officials on the field and big east officials manning the replay booth.

didn't something similar happen in an oregon game a few years ago?

Not that I remember but hey, I could be wrong. Something this blatant and easy to fix I feel is a new precedent.

here it is:

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Pacific-10 Conference suspended for one game the officiating crew and the instant replay officials that worked Saturday's Oklahoma-Oregon football game after finding mistakes were made in calls near the end of the contest.

Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen said Monday that a review by conference officials of video of the game revealed that both the instant replay officials and the game officials assigned by the conference made errors in the final minute and 12 seconds of the game.

An onside kick by Oregon after its first late touchdown was touched by a Ducks player before it traveled the required 10 yards, and the Pac-10 ruled that the ball should have been awarded to Oklahoma. The league also said that video revealed that an Oklahoma player actually recovered the ball.

Yeah you are right about that but there is no concrete way to over tun that game, in the Toledo game. Toledo came in and marched down the field for a field goal. All you do is take one point away. I mean Extra points are the easiest thing on the planet to judge, just wait to see if the ball disappears behind the goal post.
