This Friday is the 3rd Annual Travis Smith Memorial Golf Classic Hosted by Greg Oden. As many of you may know this golf classic was formally the Larry Bird Golf Classic, as it is still put on by the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club.

This year the stars will be out. Mike Conley JR, Eric Gordon and Steve Blake are all expected to be in attendance! Last year Indiana State athletic coaches Kevin McKenna, Jim Wedie, golf coach Mike Whitson all participated. As well as former Sycamore athletes Kristen Weddle, Mike Menser and myself (that's all I can think of).

Looking forward to great weather and another great golf classic on Friday!

Thanks Boda, indeed it is a great time! Heard tonight that McRoberts will be here this year aswell. Their is a speical BBQ tomorrow night for all major sponsors. It is a great time!

Honestly I think if you asked Greg his two favorite establishments in TH he would tell you the Rod & Gun Club and the Bally, he loves both! lol

I would assume Coach McKenna will be playing again this year. I know the basketball team practices at the Boys and Girls Club a couple nights during the week. I believe Jimmy Smith played against Kevin McKenna while Jimmy was at Indiana State. Not 100% positive, but I think so.

Great golf outing once again! Had great weather and a great time today. Got to meet Josh McRoberts for the first time, had dinner with him and Greg and family at the Rod and Gun Club. Josh is a really neat kid, really down to earth and easy to talk to! I honestly didn't think to much of him as a ball player (you all know how I am) but dang when you are good dude like that who cares how well you hoop and hes in the NBA so he aint doin to bad!

Very cool to hear. Did you rub elbows with any State folks? Any tidbits?

Lansing was at the outing and Josh said he talked to Lansing about Kelly. Lansing told Josh they hoped to hear something within the next month or so. They actually were waiting on him to finish a summer class last Friday? I think. and they had to send in his transcripts from the summer session I do believe. Seems to really be some excitment around the community surrounding the hoops program this year. Josh had a lot of praise for Jake, he said that he was a really quiet kid at Carmel but he really could tell he had the tallent to play at the next level.

I talked to Mike Mesner and he was tryin to trash talk me... lol other than that I really didn't talk to much ISU sports. Talked to Bobby Heaton briefly... It was a really good turn out - I did not see coach McKenna but he was at the BBQ last night! I have met him a time or two but I don't personally know him or Lansing.
