I just looked at the MVC stats, and it appears that UE is in position to win the conference the way they have been playing.
I have mixed emotions about that. Of course, I hate UE (as a team), but it would be nice to see someone other than WSU win it.
I would assume that as of right now, it will boil down to one or two baskets, possibly on road games, that will determine which of the top 3 teams will take the title.

I'm a little excited to see how UE does with Modgevisious (spelling not even close) and Balantine as seniors. This is UE's year if there ever was a year. I hope they win lots of games (I just hope we win more).

Since UNI has beaten UNC and Iowa State I feel like they're the team to beat right now. Even more so than WSU.

WSU will be WSU...but I doubt they win more than 14 games. I would even predict a 13-5 record in conference.

Loyola. 9 wins.

SIU, oh man, I hope they can carry their success into the conference and win 11+

Sycamores -- please let us be competitive and even better and have a strong showing, please.

Illinois State. They better not turn on a switch and come out of nowhere (from their disappointing non-con).

Drake. 6 wins
MO State. 5 wins
Bradley. Good luck freshmen.

I am guessing the same can be said for our Sycamores as you said about Illinois State? I agree that UNI will battle Wichita for the top spot. I pencil in Evansville in 3rd (not enough depth for the rigors of the Valley). I don't see the reg. season conf champ losing more than 3 or 4, not 5 games; don't forget that reg. season champ gets you nothing unless you have done the rest to be considered for an at-large. Still don't think our Sycamores will win enough to get away from opening night in STL.

Why are Evansville''s seniors performing as expected and for at least the last two seasons our Sycamore seniors are underwhelming - seems to be a trend there?

I don't know how we can be sure of anything based on the non-conference alone, but Wichita State hasn't looked all that bad. Evansville has been good, but they haven't really played anyone that great.

I agree with Quabachi on UNI. They've been up and down, but have wins against UNC (No. 1) and Iowa State (No. 5), which makes them scarier in my opinion than some of the teams that have beat up on relative nobodies.

I said at the beginning it was between the Aces, Shockers, and Trees. UNI could be there too... I still believe the Trees have a shot. It seems they are finally finding their niche in play and hitting free throws... Blocking out will, obviously, be very important. I know many disagree with me on the Trees potential. LOL.

Now get this, this is how DEAD UE Basketball has become. They do have sports blog for fans, but not one thread started for the ISU vs UE game.

Incredible. This may be THE most important game of the season for them, and NO chatter!!!

Get on Bank to go over there and rile them up!

Yeah, I tried that, but he's in West Terre Haute in some kind of month long sabbatical, or "spiritual retreat" with some Sisters at St. Mary's Of-The-Woods College, and can't be distracted.

Or at least that's his story.

LMAO! He is too busy commenting on every Indiana State/Terre Haute related story that pops on on TribStar.com and usually the same ole Bank bull shit... Kill them with the negative just to show everyone he is paying attention.

Sounds like the Pot, calling the Kettle Black.

Are you two related, like 4th or 5th cousins or something?
