I know many of you probably won't care one way or the other, but anyone up to making a prediction on the fate of Urban Meyer today? We should know within a few hours (or sooner) what the punishment will be, if any.

My prediction - 3 game suspension (without pay), one statement of contrition (that he probably won't write himself) and some outside the box type thing like donating time/money to battered women's shelter (or having the team volunteer there).

Would be really surprised if he was let go.

Gene Smith (The AD) is the one that should be worried about losing his job. Someone has to take the fall and Smith seems to be in prime position to do just that.

He's parsed his words quite carefully, no? As in he followed the O$U protocol, his boss failed -- he (Meyer) didn't fail...

No, Urban flat out lied publicly during his pressers.

He stated he had "no knowledge" of the abuse, the text messages, etc. Now today he stated he "followed his heart and not his head" and showed just what a fucking scumbag he is.

Three games. That is what an assistant beating his wife is worth.

Every year we are given a reminder of the immortal words of Royce Waltman, that losing is the only unforgiveable sin in college athletics.

I agree he's a scumbag, the one story I read had him shoving the AD under the bus. He should've been canned but even Hayes had to punch an opposing player publicly to get fired. O$U has always been corrupt, this is just another chapter

Anyone happen to read any of the docs OSU release or the summations papers have been putting out?

I really enjoyed the taking recruits to strip clubs and that it was done by Smith and Urban's right hand man (and current Texas head coach) Herman. Go ahead and tell me Urban didn't know anything about that, either.

Holy shit. Hadn't seen that but dude is off the rails and on a completely different reality track.

And this forum is filled with crazy, negative, hateful etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. types of fans/people... LOL! That is a different level of in-saneness going on - the conversations we have on here are sooooo small in the grand scheme of things. Smith lost his damn mind.

Let go by Ohio State.

Officially it goes down as retirement. We will never know the real story, but much more likely he was told to go away.
