I'm interested to see if there is a loophole where if your FB/mens BB is funded entirely through private funding and no public funds are used, if you can get out of Title IX requirements and just cut womens sports entirely if you so choose.

Why do I foresee protests across the country... petition.org may crash

I'd imagine those go straight to lawsuits since Title IX is Federal law.

I do think we will eventually see the law scrapped. It made sense in a different era. However, with the expense of everything today, you just cannot mandate irrational spending like this. Maybe a compromise could be had based on a cost/revenue analysis.

Irrational spending... are you talking about Olympic/Non-Revenue sports or FBS football?

I mean, you could argue both, but non-revenue sports are absolutely a complete waste that are mandated by the law. At least with football you have revenue offset.

Honestly, most non-revenue sports would be better to operate as club level sports outside of legal handcuffs.

and you're focused on ALL non-revenue/olympic sports as irrational spending -- Title IX essentially directed a women's golf team IF there was a men's golf team...

if the idea/intent with NIL is to "essentially" transform a 1973-74 / 1983-84 NCAA Men's/Women's construct into "cheaper" MiLB, NBA G-League and minor league football...

sign me up as the newest/biggest fan of NCAA Div II, Div III and/or NAIA sports.

** SOAP BOX WARNING **
Colleges were NOT intended to be "shell corps" for minor league sports - period.

If that's the way it's going - count me out.
