Indiana State women's basketball gets center from Ohio
By Craig Pearson
The Tribune-Star
TERRE HAUTE ? Not much disappointed 6-foot-4 Indiana State basketball recruit Shannon Thomas when she visited campus and met with the Sycamores? coaching staff in June.
Thomas, a first-team all-conference selection in the Greater Western Ohio Conference in 2006-07, made her verbal commitment to play center for coach Jim Wiedie soon after her visit.
?First off, I think the most important thing was the coaches and getting to know them, making sure we were compatible to get along,? Thomas said. ?They were really nice. I felt like they were telling the truth ? being sincere about everything. So that was important to me. And the facilities were nice. It was just a good atmosphere to be in.?
