I for the record was not that upset with Monday nights loss - it really wasn't anything to get to excited about. Hopefully folks are able to keep things in perspective in the future. You lose last nights game and you move on and get ready for the next one. This team has already shown the ability to bounce back after a loss. They did that vs. LSU and now CC - you know what get's me?

Here it is: You people (myself included) thought that the Sycamores had a pretty good shot to beat LSU right? I thought we had a pretty good chance to beat them. We loose that game and come back and win are next 2 games. Next thing you know people (not including myself) are already assuming that we are going to get beat by WKU? How does that logic work? 1 week a team can beat LSU, that very next week it't not likely that they will beat WKU...

Upset, no...frustrated, yes. All you can do is hope that they learned something from the Monday night game and move forward instead of sulking and wondering what could have been. I think they made a pretty good step last night but losing that lead late is a little worrisome. To me, and this may be master of the obvious stuff, it just means that the team still has plenty to work on but they did just go on the road in a hostile environment and pick up a W. That does show some character...just need to work on that killer instinct some.

The reason that I was upset? Lack of focus that will be needed through the long season... It's an indicator light going off... hopefully the car has been "repaired".
The other reason is that losses like that don't do teams any favors if you are having to rely on the selection committee at the end of the year. Good teams - and well focused teams - don't lose those games.

Little Eddie, I agree about losing the lead... second time we have done that this year. I'm worried about the constant empty possessions in the last 4-5 minutes of the game.... and the fact that the game would have been over if we hit ONE of the TWO free throws given with 10 seconds left.

Guys, remember this team doesn't really have anyone on it with any great degree of experience in winning, particularly on the road. It takes some time to develop that. Same concept as Dr. Lou's steps to rebuilding a football program can be applied here.

1. Teach the kids to compete. No problem there, for the most part.
2. Teach the kids to win. We're getting there. Better now than in the past.
3. Teach the kids to expect to win. Much, much more difficult, but I think we're getting there. That last play last night showed some serious composure on the part of Harry and Rashad.
4. Teach the kids to win championships. Maybe we get there this year???

Anyway, it's gonna take some time to develop #3. I'm sure in the back of their minds, they are still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Last night could do wonders for our confidence and expectation to win...

I don't see how anybody could not be upset with Monday night's loss, or should I say, second half blow out. Luckily our Sycamores were upset with it and not satisfied as they played with loads of heart Tuesday night.

Look if you want to respond to me in 2 strait posts on 2 different threads then you might as well quote me because you are obviously not using the same logic as me and you are obviously talking about me.

I was not upset with the loss on Monday night - bamm, you see it was that easy! I slept fine - because I knew this team would be fine. Put everything into perspective man, they were coming off 4 games in a week 3 of which were on the road. They had a bigger game on Tuesday, not saying they over looked CC but that could have factored into it. Not to mention they were playing without one of their leading rebounder's and inside players Richard.

I was not upset because I kept everything into perspective - I knew they had a game on Tuesday that they had a good shot to win and I knew that loss would have little to do with the way the rest of our season is going to play out. You all acted like this team was going to be defined by that loss and I simply disagree with that. They had a bad second half, it happens. It's a long season, get over it and move on! I am tired of talking about Monday night!

When did I say that that loss would define our season? I just was just saying that the team was going to have to come away from it with a postitve attitude and learn from their mistakes...and they did! I'm sure McKenna and the seniors were very displeased with the outcome Monday and so they did what had to be done to reverse it. If they weren't upset, I'd be wondering if they even had a pulse. I'm at least a little bit upset any time we lose, just like I'm at least a little bit happy anytime we win. I never said that one win or one loss (especially in November) is going to determine the whole season.

Morgan........................you should realize that you are a Moderator because no one else wanted to be. The vast majority of your posts convey nothing but your simple overbearing attitude. It appears that you know even less about basketball than I initially thought you did. You are an ex-runner so don't attempt to be a basketball genius. There are times (lots of them) when you need to just shut the *** up!

I think we just need to realize the game against Coastal Carolina was a fluke. They overlooked them in order to prepare for WKU. It was a bad loss yes, but what did they do the next day? They beat one of the best mid-major programs in the nation ON THEIR HOME COURT!!! The loss vs. CC will not make or break our season especially in November, the guys need to learn from it and continue to play quality basketball.

Fluke may be too light as I think CC played a really good game...abberation (not admiration) maybe?

Love the post though...can I get an Amen from the congregation?
